This is interesting. What dilution of Hydrogen peroxide do you use? This would really only clean the teeth I would imagine. I have suggested Calc Fl cell salts but you think Mag phos would be better? Mum is doing “tooth pulling” with cold pressed coconut oil with the children I know. Can you send me a link to this Judd’s protocol please. Thanks

There is a chemist named Dr. ?? Judd who offers a protocol for rebuilding teeth.

Magnesium phospate is what he suggests along with hydrogen peroxide diluted, daily.
He suggests a few other steps, like baking soda for teeth brushing, etc.
He is not the only one talking about nutrition and minerals for rebuilding teeth.

I have a video series online that discusses this in detail.
FYI, I have begun his protocol of rinsing daily with Hydrogen peroxide and taking extra magnesium

I make my own toothpaste with organic cold pressed coconut oil, baking soda and calcium bentonite clay.

At Judd’s suggestion I have added a little olive oil. I take Mag citrate (when I can get the pills down) but

also take the cell salt mag phos daily. There are distinct results which began to occur in very short time.

There was some stress during the pregnancy with this child but not the other 2 who are also affected. Have been using Kreos with the 3 yr. old in a WP twice a week since May as I read about this in Lesser. Her teeth have not got any worse. The 6 year old had Calc Phos in May which sorted her nightly leg pains and eczema and we also started Bacc 30 monthly (Lesser) but this week was in so much pain from the teeth that she had 2 removed so told mum not to bother with the Bacc anymore. The other Sx have returned so have given her another dose of Calc Phos. I think I need a miasmatic Rx to give all 3 girls.

Oh, another thing. A dentist I've started seeing this past year or so is way into xylitol for oral health. So I read up on it.

He cites studies (sorry, I don't have citation) showing an effective dose of 1 gram, which is about 1/4 tsp, of xylitol, four or five times daily, effective to both reduce both tooth decay and gum disease -- and eliminate it, if the protocol is continued long enough, which I think was described as a year or more. AND in addition to bring about remineralization of the teeth.

The benefit comes not from the ingestion (tho it's fine to ingest), but from contact with the mouth surfaces. Explanation given is that xylitol cannot be metabolized by the specific bacteria that cause tooth decay (it is a bacterial effect), so this protocol over a long enough time will kill off the pathogenic bacteria, while leaving the other normal bacterial population unharmed.

I would think that a nutritional approach would be perhaps more beneficial for the overall system, but I am using xylitol as an add-on for my own "dental issues," and it does seem to make a difference. Can't complain about the taste!

If the children are sweets-free, this could complicate that; but if not, swapping in some xylitol for other sweets could be both easy and helpful? (There are xylitol mints on the market, as well as bulk crystals.)
(Hydrogen peroxide -- that too works by killing off the bacteria causing the decay. It's a wonderful way to get a "pause" while waiting for appointment on a deep cavity! 1 part H2O2 to 2 parts water, hold in the mouth and swish vigorously for three minutes. Ick, not enjoyable, but effective.)

Xylitol is the only “sugar” that I use in cooking , hot cocoa etc. It has no taste unlike the Stevia aka Truvia which I think has been highly modified chemically!! It is interesting that the supermarkets here in UK do not sell Xylitol anymore only Truvia (big pharms taken over again!!) I buy Xylitol at health food shops.

I will send mum the Hydrogen peroxide tip . I know they use “tooth pulling” with coconut oil.

I do not think there is a "free lunch" with this and other "sugar alcohols" like sorbitol, mannitol etc.
How much gas, bloating, cramping, nutritional blocks, electrolyte imbalance, etc does one want?
In high quantity you can add kidney failure, cancer and other issues to its use...which you would not get with equivalent amounts of sugar. (Xylitol calories = 10 for every 15 in sugar)

Sorbitol is now in common use in deli's as "seasoning" on chicken etc - and is in most medicines - it' in candy - it is getting ubiquitous - one can fast get a LOT of it!

Remember to keep all sugar alcohols away from pets (and babies) - it is very toxic to them.
It is less toxic to humans - but is no innocent molecule.
I question its use to gain a mere third less calories than sugar.
Do you really want to eat something unsafe for babies?

I'll stick to sugar thanks! And just reduce how much I use by a third - or skip it altogether, and introduce beneficial spices instead such as cinnamon and coriander. Those help substitute for sweet taste desire.

Much safer and healthier.

H2O2 is not unpleasant when diluted. The Judd protocol calls for only 2-6 drops in 1/2 cup of water.
There is no taste at that dilution.
I think it was him also that said that it is not the bacteria on the teeth causing decay. He has an entire
explanation as to why the bacteria cannot live on the teeth—cannot recall it well enough to try and describe
it here.

Sounds like a dilution for drinking, or is it just a rinse?

I hope you're not promoting and/or using REFINED sugar, sugar should only be used in organic or other much less refined forms, like evaporated cane juice which preserves nutritional qualitites.
Since you follow Bernstein diet for diabetes and only eat no more than 6 grams of carbs per meal, it's doubtfull your 1/3 reduction of sugar, if used, to 4 grams or less from 6 is going to make that much difference on health.
Sorbitol has been around the longest, I've had it since the 70's, mostly in low carb baked products and does cause various gaseous disturbances on too much use.
Xylitol which isn't used much in commercial sugar free baking products hasn't caused those problems for me when I used it in a sugar free Atkins cheesecake recipe. It does have a different taste maybe because the xylitol I use is from birch trees.
Maltitol and maltitol syrup is most commonly used in sugar free prioducts like ice cream, frosting. Doesn't seem to be too noticeable on excess consumption. I've eaten sugar free ice cream and not had any issues.
Since many sugar alcohols act like sugar, they can be disruptive for low carb dieting, depends on which one, and can take you out of ketosis.
My all time fav for artificial sugar free substitue is cyclamates which may be re-legalized in the USA and are sold in Canada under Sugar Twin label, which in the USA is sold as saccharin.

Just as a BTW, because of how the xylitol references started: If one is using xylitol for oral health (healing cavities and healing gums), the amount you use is WAY below anything that would cause digestive issues, and you don't even need to swallow it.
My own answer to low-carb sweetening has been to simply get used to eating foods that are less (or not) sweet! So when i started using xylitol (for oral health, at my dentist's urging), I found the sweetness disturbing and would swish it through my mouth for a half minute or so, then spit. But I don't find it causes me any trouble, so I've just gotten re-accustomed to those little doses of sweetness.
Somewhere I read the suggest that you can kill a sweet tooth by taking a Tbsp of flax oil. That too sounds a lot healthier, to me, than any chemical sweetener could be… And for me, craving sweet has in the past meant either that I need more protein, or a stress / B vitamin issue. I suppose other nutritional imbalances could also cause it--chromium maybe?
I have read that non-caloric sweeteners actually are found to encourage weight gain -- because the body gets that taste, and "thinks" sugar is on the way, so sends out insulin, so you get hungry and eat something else, more than you would have if you'd just fed the body something less duplicitous than "pretend sugar"… Personally, I've liked the approach that, If you can't spell it or pronounce it, you probably shouldn't be eating it! (I know, that could eliminate things like vitamins and quinoa and ashwagandha, even goji berries… But you get the idea, I still like it a lot as a starting point!

I'm sure if research is done, this statement was concocted by the sugar industry and spread by those researchers, nutritionists funded by food mfrs.
Since I've been using saccharin and at times cyclamates since the 1970's, the original no cal artificial sweeteners, this has not been the case, I would never be able to stay in ketosis if it were. The advent of next gen artificial sweeteners, Spenda/sucralose, Nutrasweet/aspartame are problematic, not for low carb dieting, but for liver and brain health. The former usually nakes my blood sugar go up, the latter gives me muscle pains, headaches as does MSG which are both excitotoxins.
There's a new no calorie sweetener, Necresse, made by the company who makes Splenda. It is from monkfruit and supposedly is all natural but it is blended with erythritol (sugar alcohol), sugar and molasses, so how can it be NO cal ??? I have a coupon for it and will try it to see if it causes blood sugar spikes.
