Hi Shannon. Now that you ask - I want to avoid being a hypocrite (towards myself) – and say that in

fact I studied this aspect quite a long time ago and am assuming to know. Maybe I should go over it again.

Could you recapitulate why a deep and serious assessment of the TOTALITY of the symptoms, including

the period of time and modality involved in each symptom, would not automatically “detect” miasmas?

I mean, as symptoms that are there for a long time should, out of good sense, be regarded as chronic

and dealt with with the corresponding chronic orientated procedures..... well...would not such attitude

deal with the so-called miasmas also?

Are you familiar with the process through which Hahnemann came to his theory of miasms, and also with what is the difference between "miasmatic" prescribing and "regular"?

Yes, Shannon. Now that I am re-studying miasms I must admit that I was ignorant on the subject.
Thanks for reminding me.
Here is a link to an abreviated “take” upon the matter. As an intro it should be usefull

basically you take the whole case, find the remedy, and also be sure it fits the miasm you have determined the person to be in.
If you have taken the case well, it will fit the miasm too

Also... considering the correct order. Psora, sicosis, siflis. It seems relevant to me the fact that
without a proper tx of psora it will be very difficult to deal with the other two. I somehow feel that
the miasmatic perspective can be an enormous aid in prescription.

Hi Shannon,
Not sure about a "mismatch" of miasms, was that discussed on here or an article?
I'd have to read up on the tubercular miasm since don't remember offhand what's in it.
I have a good understanding and feeling for the sycotic miasm as I have it deep and see it a-lot in people I know.
Seperate from allopathic diseases that may be treated, human personalties and actions seem to represent their influence by the miasm.
Long story short, I have a friend for 40 years, always seem to be lying, just easier to respond to a ? with a lie than truth. Also, something about money, stealing, had used one of my credit cards illegally many years ago.. ... A few years ago, with no criminal background, had identity and credit card theft and got 3 felony convictions and spent jail time, having no previous criminal record. Couple years later, past fall, gave ONE 3 pill dose of 200C antispsoric, the only remedy that had stealing money as a rubric. No intense casetaking, etc. There were other things that occurred since incarceration that showed me that desire to steal money was still there, but if it got to the conviction level, would be for a lifetime because of previous felonies. While jail time was life alterating, the urge was still there.
I noticed some changes in behavior and thinking,, even other friends noticed something different, better. Desire to work, less dwelling on past felonies preventing future job employment, desire to get moving, etc. Person even worked part time and hadn't worked in 5 years! Then past week, found out even more positive changes had happened which I was unaware. The person told me it felt like an epiphany!. He wants more of the remedy because felt had more energy, better mental outlook on life, etc. He is now going to take same remedy in LM as I feel this will help him. I told him this is like opening Pandora's box, you can't go back, and I can't predict what may happen, do you want to continue? He said YES!
So, while there is a psychological, psychiatric diagosis here, it's not what we may usually think for reasons to give a remedy. . I also am amazed how transformative our remedies can be, when you choose the right one and it is truly needed that it allows vast improvement over months from one dose. May have to do with vibrational quality of the remedy matching this person. This is also an example of miasmatic influence on behavior. Also, what H writes in Chronic Diseases about alternating different antipsorics for chronic diseases and not to be concerned if it is the exact simillimum. While we should strivve to choose the best one, sometimes you can over-rep and miss the right one. And that while an antisporic may not be the true simillimum, there can be benefits of taking others during process of curing chronic diseaes. Also, once you've experienced taking antipsoric/anitmiasmatic remedies, it makes you more understanding and compassionate, at times, of the actions of others who are really suffering from their miasms, if not physically, mentally.
Susan
