I haven't had occasion to use it as a "catheter," but given the urgency of a situation in which it might be needed, I'd go for the higher potency (though some of the older texts recommend a 1X).
Peace,
Dale

Yes I am inclined to agree with you. This elderly man is coming in tomorrow for his first consultation. I know that there will be a lot of mental and emotional issues here (he escaped Persia (Iran) as it was then as was being threatened because of his religious Baha’i beliefs.

I have just looked in my homeopathic store and found Opium in potencies up to 10M- so do you think it is worth giving him a 10M to keep in just in case this happens again as well as Sabal 200? Or does it have to be a CM?

sabal may cure but it takes too much time. opium cm single dose bwd restore u7rination in 15 v t0 30 minutes. if there is no stream only drops hepar sulf in cm wd give you result in a day. digitals 30 if there is severe burning in urethra while passing urine. baruyta carb and raerly conium is needed . i never failed in my 25 years practice.

Just more info on this very common male complaint. I have just remembered that I have used Ferrum Pic 6x successfully years ago with a man with prostate problem but since I can’t remember his name I can’t look up the case but I think the problem was a burning sensation on urination.
Ferrum Pic- frequent urination at night Senile hypertrophy of prostate; 2 and frequent urination at night; and full feeling and pressure in rectum. Along entire urethra. Smarting at neck of bladder and penis

My research tonight has come up with another homeopathic catheter and that is Solidago V. I don’t have it in my store of remedies but would be interested to know if anyone has ever tried it.
Thanks

Hi Rochelle
I've used in a 3X as a kidney support (organotherapy) to good effect.

Hello Rochelle

suggestions from:
Phatak
Sabal serrulata - Homeopathic catheter for the retention of urine due to enlarged prostate
Tincture 10 drops thrice daily in alternation with Solidago tincture 10 drops thrice daily in a little water

When urine is obstructed, or when the kidneys malfunction, Sabal may act as the homeopathic catheter
also
Boericke
Often replaces the use of the catheter – Thlaspi (Tincture, 5 drops in half cup of water thrice daily. Most of the time it replaces the need of catheter.

Sometimes makes the use of the catheter unnecessary – Solidago

Thanks for that. It turns out that the reason for the catheter was an allopathic drug he was told to take which needless to say he is not now!! I started him off on Sabal 10 drops as his problem is frequent urination at night but told him it would take 4-6 weeks. He has now taken himself off the other drug that was meant to help with this as it wasn’t doing anything so I have told him he can take 20 drops 4 x a day if he wishes. I checked my herbal manuals and they suggest up to 60 drops 4x a day but they are probably referring to a standardised 1:5 tincture whereas mine is 1:3. Solidago is a protected plant, and shouldn’t be used. It is also very expensive now . I think Solidago would be far more important for an infection which he has not got.
One of the remedies I have included in his plussing regime (a La Dr Ramakrishnan) is Conium which as well as being a major Rx for his main presenting complaint is also a good one for the BPH.

I have never used this Rx in potency , only in a herbal form for prevention of problems. Just checked my Rx store and I have it in a 6x and a 200!!! Have you ever used it for this purpose – in which case which of those 2 potencies would you suggest in I ever needed it?

Thanks
Rochelle
