I was very knew to internet workings back in those days and never got into the discussions on Lyteforce.
But do remember an online journal that was very good. I was disappointed that only a very few issues were
published that I could find, but I downloaded a couple of them.
As for this list becoming too broad? Well, I suppose I am part of that, too. My thinking is that homeopathy is
not just case taking. It also needs to include the broader context of the climate in which people work
especially so as the profession is under direct assault from authorities that can clamp down on it--which
is happening in numerous countries. UK, US, Canada, etc. If we, as a profession, do not participate in
our own survival, then why would we expect anyone else to do so.

Tanya, I agree with you about the issue of broadness. Fran may have been referring not just to subject matter, but also to the way discussions began to range farther and farther from the classical, which had been focus, and sometimes also farther from various other bounds we'd been accustomed to.

I was an avid Homeopathy Home person . I remember even having an email account there. I spent hours on the forums as a student – so that must have been 1995 onwards . I used to answer people’s queries – mostly from the general public and I learnt a lot and met a lot of homeopaths through it . John then merged it to Otherhealth. I still get Private messages sent to me from there commenting on and asking me questions based on something they had searched and found on the forums that I had answered many years back!! Until Hpathy.com started it was the most comprehensive homeopathic website on the net. It is still going but I only visit it to find a resource I know that is there to pass onto other people and to answer Private Messages. Hpathy.com has really taken over. It is well moderated and if you don’t get the monthly Ezine you should sign up for it!! (I am one of the editors of this Ezine)

I can't remember now. It was in the early 1980s.
Maybe it was run by John?
You had to pay for membership - quite a heavy fee from memory - I guess that meant only those serious about their homeopathy joined.
Once other groups started up it either died out or the membership was dropped.
It might have been the precusor to the Lyghtforce group. Didn't Jon only open that up or join it with another public group that also seems to have died about 10 years ago or so? I know a lot of people dropped out of it when they realised that their posts were being seen by all and sundry without their knowledge that this had been done. Did it join with the otherhealth group which seemed to be a general group about general health related issues rather than just homeopathy? Can't remember now as I wasn't very active in the groups by then. Was it linked with homeopathyhome?

Ooops - early 90s.
And the first and only list was membership by fee.
I'm just trying to remember who was on it - many of the well-known names - JW, Steve Waldstein (I think), Fran Treuherz, Greg Bedayn, etc. Many associations also had representation there as it was one of the early ways of finding out what was going on with homeopathy around the world.

Could that have been HomeoNet? Looks like it started in about 1986. I finally got onto that around 1994-ish, just as it was fading away. That's where I "met" JW, and got pointed toward Lyghtforce. In earlier years David Kent Warkentin was there, and also Jonathan Shore, Franz Treuherz, Lou Klein, and some other familiar names. I think Greg too--maybe that was it? By the time I got there not too much was going on, tho.

Yes - that sounds like it - it used to be very active - think it began to die as other free options began to appear.
I remember the pegasus though - it might have been carried by a pegasus server.

It may have been started by that group (I can't remember for sure; but MacRep's developer was certainly active on it), but I got onto it years before I ever bought MacRep. I think there was a moderate yearly fee, but it didn't take any special qualifications to join up--at any rate I didn't have any, other than being a student of h'y.
