mentoring - a suggestion (or paying it forward!)

Hi Sheri and others,

That's exactly the people I had in mind for me to mentor - those with background who were finishing studies and starting work under clinical supervision, and those in the first couple of years of practice who "sort of" know what they are doing but are very unsure of themselves. I think lack of confidence during that time is a positive attribute if it leads a person to study more and work more for better results. But it doesn't help with case management and working with patients...

I think the input of a lot of people to this list and others also counts as mentoring. Joy's work on this list and on her own has made a tremendous difference for a lot of people, and many others here add so much value (perhaps a little less of late - possibly daunted by the bickering...). I could list people but I don't think anyone would want me to, but I am amazed at those who take the trouble to write long invaluable e-mails explaining points in philosophy, Boeninghausen, different remedies, activism for homeopathy, and at those who spoof the whole thing from time to time to lighten the atmosphere.

What I'm suggesting is completely informal, not a mentoring program. The idea is that if you're tearing your hair out about a case you have some one to contact before baldness sets in. Sometimes the list helps with that but not all cases and issues are suitable for a public list. What helped me was an informal as-needed e-mail exchange, and that's what I'm suggesting here.

hi, this is very good idea of mentoring.vera, joy and many others(like susan,laura etc) on this site and also the team of homoepathy 4 everyone, are doing great job of educating the homeopaths and thus promoting real homeopathy forward to next generations otherwise this pathy could have died (no support from govt and also lack of real classical homeopaths in this world). in india there are many homeopath but the classical homeopath are rare. poeple go to them and when cure doesnot happen then blame homeopathy.
these mentor are like prophets of homeopathy carrying the message forward.
