Hi Rochelle,
if it is a way to get rid of toxins, why do you want to shorten its life?

Paul

Hi Marco,
Ask them what happens to many drugs they take. They also get pee'd out.
If you take a high dose vit C. it will go out through your kidneys, but there is a pathway to get there first. It is increased in your blood stream and in turn increased in your tissues, where it is needed, then it is excreted. So taking a low dose often, or a sustained release sounds good, but isn't. In that case you would get small levels in the blood stream ,which would still pass out through the kidneys, before really flooding the tissues. Better to get the higher doses and get the tissues saturated. You have to watch out if prone to kidney stones though (oxalate or urate).
The argument about urine started with Vit B in the old days, when that was the only vitamin people bothered with or new about, for its effect on stress. Vit B2 colours the urine yellow, so the docs said, "see, your peeing it out". Of course penicillin (and many other drugs) is excreted as well, via liver and also kidneys, but it is colourless, so you don't see it.

Paul
Hi,
and what do you tell to all those people arguing that more than 1 g of vitamin c is worthloss to take because you loose it via bowels?

I think it just all comes out faster rather than dragging it on.

I have challenged many times anyone to show me a real patient having kidney stones with a high dose on Vitamin C. No published cases.
The story stems from a lab research where vitamin C put in urine in a test tube at room temperature (25 or 28C I think) precipitated as oxalate; when repeated at body temperature (37C), it never happened.
The bowel tolerance is the reflection of tissue saturation; once every organ and cell is full of vitamin C, it cannot absorb any more from the gut, then it becomes an osmotic laxative.
No magic, no mystery, plain good old science.................

Had a customer telling me the miracles taking Calcium Ascorbate had achieved for him ..... but every so often he also had to get his kidney stones sorted out - not proof, just association, just one person I got talking too, without knowing any more of his history - and he loved his Calcium Ascorbate so much, he wouldn't even listen to a suggestion about Sodium Ascorbate.

That is the calcium imbalance, not the vitamin C...........
