I wonder if camphor situation is similar to dental work, where it will antidote if within a certain time after taking the remedy? I have had dental drilling *not* antidote (many times), and I have had it do so (three times), and the difference was how long after taking the remedy. For me, two weeks seems to be the "magic window", but i don't know whether that would apply generally or not.
I also had an episode where I (forgot about the camphor problem) and burnt ceremonial camphor for about 6 hours, with no ill effect whatever--but that was I think weeks or even months after taking it. Do you happen to know whether she had taken her remedy recently before the ceremony?

Re: Proving????
Hi Donna,
Not sure what the symptoms are they are having, but they need to also see an experienced homeopath. As this is a student, they should have a lecturer who is able to do this. BECAUSE, if say the symptoms are e.g. acute anxiety, or palpitations or GIT symptoms, the MD can check for underlying pathology, but failing any conclusive diagnosis based on lab reports or scans etc, they might then conclude it is "panic attacks" or IBS etc. and then we have a diagnosis and a prescription (tranquillizers, motilium etc etc etc.) which means the student has to decide whether they are really ill or just proving.
Students should be properly suprevised.
Regards,
Paul

Re: Proving????
I cannot see really how people can help with this without more information. You need to know if the proving protocols have been breached such as not taking the case beforehand to check for any underlying health issues, tendency to acutes and to assess sensitivity + whether a ridiculous and unnecessary taking of the rx has been enforced or whether supervision was inadequate. The proving can be stopped or halted with a various choice of rx or as suggested a strong smelling substance or coffee (doesn't always work though) but the real message coming out of this is for people to learn how to conduct provings correctly as there is no need for this to happen.
If she was self medicating for a reason of health then what Paul and others say is right. I would be concerned how she got to be thinking of over medicating in this way.

Re: Proving????
Hi Joy
doesn't sound like the student was taking part in a proving. I think she was taking a remedy (self-medicating) and is now "proving" or "agg", we don't know without more info. I think Dona was asking from the point of "if the student is proving, what do I do as I have never done provings myself".
My point is that students should have responsible supervisor they can refer to (i.e. their lecturer).

Re: Proving????
Hi Donna
I am extremely sensitive to remedies and can start proving them just by
getting a drop on my arm when medicating one of my animals. The
symptoms have been so intense that I have been off my feet and in bed
for 24 hours even after taking an antidote. The room can be spinning,
I can feel intensely sick, I can be staggering round like a drunkard.
On one occasion, that I remember only too well, I felt suicidal.
Different remedies = different effects. I seem to be particularly
sensitive to Conium and Hyos - I am scared to death of even using these
remedies in case I manage to get any of it on me. Being sensitive
really does make you appreciate the power of homeopathy to harm as well
as heal.

The number of times I have dropped a medicating potency on myself when medicating pillules is amazing. Today it was Holm Fl 1M !!! Lat week it was Influenzum 200 and Kali Brom 30. I have taken to washing my hands with cold water and pouring on Tea Tree oil in the hopes that the smell will get rid of any affects on me and also in the hopes that it will not undo the Rx I am on if not too near to when I have taken it!!
