I really should have mentioned that the pain my son had only lasted a couple
of hours.

APHORISM 258

The true practitioner, moreover, will not in his practice with mistrustful weakness neglect the employment of those remedies that he may now and then have employed with bad effects, owing to an erroneous selection (from his own fault, therefore), or avoid them for other (false) reasons, as that they were unhomoeopathic for the case of disease before him; he must bear in mind the truth, that of medicinal agents that one alone invariably deserves the preference in every case of disease which corresponds most accurately by similarity to the totality of the characteristic symptoms, and that no paltry prejudices should interfere with this serious choice.>>

The Merc was given to me and I don't avoid giving it to others.

Merc did a wonderful job recently after a former EFT client was given an antibiotic from his dentist which caused profuse non ending saliva especially at night!! He phoned me to see if I could do anything about it. I think it also sorted the ulcer out but will have to check that one out as he owes me for that prescription and Rx I sent!!! I had as usual forgotten that he offered to send me a cheque which has never arrived!!!

I raised the issue of this thread because I've seen and experienced first hand that many homeopaths don't want to acknowledge that the px is aggravating (maybe in more ways than one...:)) as a result of a remedy because they think the px will lose confidence in the treatment and the practitioner. I've found that when the px feels the practitioner is completely on top of the process, able to say "it's an aggravation" and able to give some idea when it will resolve (or treat with lower potencies etc.), the px feels more confident with regard to treatment.

Totally agree with the comment that LMs and water doses make it much easier for more hesitant/cautious homeopaths to work without fear of aggravation - although I did have a px aggravate really badly on Causticum 6C in medicinal solution a while ago after taking just one dose. But in general the rule and the instructions in the Organon about this way of working really hold true and make life much easier.

It really depends on sensitivity - anyone who is sensitive enough to react even from a sniff can manage an aggravation from a 1 drop water dose of a 10m. And yes - it happened to me - 1 drop of a 10m Nat Mur -and I got proving symptoms and very cross with the prescriber for various reasons - antidoted with Camphor at the time and 5 years later was very pleased to have had the experience because a patient described the worst Nat Mur symptom I had experienced, to the letter, and had immediate relief from Nat Mur.
And I think Kent says something along the lines - that you can develop hypersensitivity in a patient by using too many remedies in very high potencies

I am pretty sure I have never seen an agg from 1 dry dose of 10M or one dose in water. It is not something I would repeat routinely.

Many people are very sensitive now

You can have agg from any potency but everyone has to pay attention
to DOSE also.

Are you aware there is a difference between potency and dose?

My hypersensitivity developed from the practitioner using multiple
remedies, dry dose, daily. :-(

Yes I've heard about this. I told a friend in London to send his daughter with Asthma to a homeopath. It was a homeopath from the college of Practical Homeopathy and I had a fit at the prescription. Needless to say it didn't work but then I told them what I thought and I don't think she kept up the regime for long. It was different remedies on different days of the week with nosodes included and high potencies.

My remedies were all to be taken on the same day and were low potencies
so you don't even need the high ones to cause sensitivity. My
homeopath did nothing for me either, except make things worse. We live
and learn and I learnt the hard way. :-(

what experiences do people have in creating hyposensitivity--where no remedy seems
to be able to work?
