Dear Erica – the nodular character of this and the redness sort of lead to the possibility of erythema nodosum (literally nodules with redness). This often accompanies auto-immune disorders, especially varieties of inflammatory colitis. It can be itchy. Just a thought. Sometimes looking at various ways to expand the paradigm is a helpful strategy, if it can give some insight into the underlying disease process (in this case, as Gail said, too much histamine, possibly from autoimmunity; in some cases chronic hives correspond instead to thyroid issues, in which case, the halogens are good remedies to consider).
In any case, you might want to look at either Sulphur or Hepar-sulph as possible remedies for this, depending on modalities and physical generals.
Good luck!!! Rosemary

Just some basics that I learnt about hives - it's an indication of having too much histamine around (a bit obvious, but that's where I started when I had a hive like reaction happening) - too much histame equates with being undermethylated, too little with being overmethylated. So if you need to go to nutritional support - Bvits, Vit C, Grapeseed Extract, Pycnogenol,Vit E.

Sea salt and water are the body's basic antihistamines - I learnt this bit from books purchased through www.watercure.com and rehydration would have to be the most basic sort of health intervention - although like nutritonal supplementation it can be palliative rather than going back to the suscebtibility source/cause.

The Iodines and shellfish sort of remedies come to mind and maybe histamine itself as a palliative

Hi Rochelle
I've been looking for that modality - maybe I should consider adding to my source materials. From what book or program did you find this?
tks bob

Hi,
www.watercure.com
This is great.
However few who are Hydrogenoid Constitution may get worse.
I have seen hives getting aggravated on drinking excess water.
There is also a report from BBC news,
a lady who participated in a seemingly innocent
water drinking contest died.

Main point is to know this angle to water cure as well.

In such cases, NS6 biochemic might help in some if not all.
NS6 helps water balance.

Hi Medimas,
Thankyou, I wondered what the dynamic was for people who try to drink more water but just get overloaded. I guessed that sometimes it is just about the sodium potassium balance. But this hydrogenoid link takes it a step further back.
One of the books explains the importance of salt - not just water for the histamine balancing effect.

Hi,
There are concepts of water retention (Many reasons),
Water balance in human system etc. which get overlooked.
While water cure is an excellent option, many are benefited,
there are -ve sides also to this.
BBC News projected this as water toxicity.
Hard to believe.

Some Viruses like AD36 cause water retention.
Excess sodium also causes water retention.

Homeopathy & astrology do recognize Hydrogenoid constitutions.
