Hi Irene!

Maybe those 30+ homeopaths are the ones who studied more the art of homeopathy and less the science of homeopathy.

It's not a matter of art or science of homeopathy, and has no intrinsic
connection to the subject of homeopathy.

Define intrinsic connection to the subject of homeopathy, so I
understand what you're talking about.

What I meant is that there can be (and in fact is) disagreement among
homeopaths as to what does or doesn't *cause* the symptom picture
currently being called AIDS, but that will not change the way that we
treat it. Diagnosis is often useful (e.g. spots on the skin caused by
a contact rash would be treated differently, and would be expected to
progress differently, compared with e.g. spots on the skin caused by
liver disease). But *cause* as such is not needed. To treat an
ailment one does not need to know whether it was caused by a bacterium
(or which one) or a virus (or which one) or malnutrition or toxicity.
Well actually, information about certain possible causes, including
malnutrition and toxicity, could indeed be important, *and* would be
obtained during the normal course of homeopathic casetaking. It
doesn't matter whether AIDS is or isn't caused by a virus, and it
doesn't matter whether the homeopath is a "believer" or a "denier."

That is what I meant.

I disagree.
I consider that homeopaths NEED to understand the pathology as well
as gthe homeopathy, to do a good job selecting a similimum PLUS a
good job healing (nutrition, supplements etc are often directly to
help the pathology - or they should be!)

Pretending the pathology is not relevant is an excuse to be lazy at
patient expense IMO!

Well, if homeopathy is thought to work like magic, then one needs this coin in their remedy kit. ;)

If one is approaching homeopathically the treatment of a person with AIDS,
wouldn't the treatment focus on the symptoms, not on the existence or not of
a specific virus?

As far as I can tell, the only "disagreement" is from those who have
not bothered to find out anything about the pathology, or the
virology, and who have read urban legends instead:-)
After all the virology has been proved causing the damage very
specifically, using very specific chemical attack.

What SHOULD be considered is why the individual is not resistant to
this virus damage of the cells.
That a virus does the direct damage can not be argued with what's
well known from pathology now.
Why not?
Knowing that there is damage to Th-2 cytokines and to CD4+ and CD8+
cells is useful.
It tells us in remedy selection to be aware that the blood cells have
been damaged not some other kind of cell, as one of many examples one
could offer. We know that homeopathy is pretty cell type specific in
its action - and that matters in remedy selection if you want success
in AIDS (in cats or people).
Because AIDS is an imnune compromise disease - it can and will
present in whatever way shows where the individual victim is most
susceptible - for whatever health-historical or enironmental, or
dietary or ICT reason. BUT to help it we need to heal not the sin
spots but the reason the skin spots got there. And that has to do
with virus damage to CD4+ and CD8+ cells, and if you do not select a
remedy accordingly, the result will not be good.
Immune compromise illnesses are all that way - one HAS to go for
the cause of the immune compromise mainly, with a few consequences or
results of the immune compromise as well - but without the cause the
remedy will fail to restore the immjune system cytokines so that they
can do their job and restore health.
In immune compromise diseases, the more we know about which
cytokines are low or high, the better we can select a remedy, because
the remedy will be similar to remedies for other diseases with
similar cytokine skewing, that ARE in the repertory as well - so it
opens up the good options for us to know about this pathology.

For example:
Both Dengue fever and FIP have a low Interleukin-2 (Il-2) cytokine.
Therefore the remedies that are genus epidemicus for one, will also
be so for the other. So knowing this pathology is very useful to help
select accordingly - and the fact that Il-2 is a th-1 cytokine is
also useful - as you can then eliminate remedies appropriate for
opposite immune system skewing diseases.
This is why there is so little success in homeopathy with FIP. Almost
everything I have read on it suggests the use of APIS (as palliation
- since they never helped a case with Apis). There's a reason for
that lack of success. Apis is contraindicated by the pathology. Apis
works for swollen TISSUES, not leaky blood vessels. FIP involves
leaky blood vessels and wasting - pointing to malarial type remedies
like China, and/or Dengue fever type remedies fro wasting. It's the
homeopaths who refuse to look at pathology, who go about suggesting
Apis for FIP, and other mismatches for immune compromise illnesses
due to refusal to understand pathology.
Of all illnesses, the ones that involve immune compromise are MOST
in need of understanding of pathology. Without it, the best you can
hope for is a poor case of palliation of a few superficial symptoms,
because the VISIBLE symptoms are too variable and too insignificant
compared with the internal ones, to lead you to the cause of the
pathology and hence the cure.
Cause is what leads to the right remedy:-)
I disagree.
Toxicity needs a completely different remedy from a tissue attack by
microbes, as does malnutrition; No remedy can fix malnutrition.....
it needs new-trition:-)

The virus matters in terms of knowing what damage it does. It's the
damage from it that gets omitted when one wears blinkers to avoid
seeing the virus. If a bacterium or fungus was doing the damage, that
would not change the approach - but knowing what is being damaged and
in what way, IS relevant. And for that reason it matters to
understand not just that a virus is involved but WHAT it does, WHERE
it does it, and WHAT ELSE is out of order as a result. ALL of this is
invisible in AIDS - it's internal.
The things you actually can see in AIds are side effects - not main
effects - so they only mater minimally compared to the main illness
which is internal and invisible and needs virus understanding to make
good use of in remedy selection.

It's not like a cut finger where you KNOW the finger is cut - the
cause and effect are all visible. In AIDS, the cause and effect are
mostly INvisible - and virus understanding is the way to know what is
happening there.
