No she hasn't - just that it is very heavy on the first 2 days. In fact her last menses came after 43 days and she said it was less painful which is probably the Sepia beginning to kick in.

Dear Rochelle
It is in Synthesis. (RADAR)
I appreciate that the qn may be sensitive.
(Actually asking sensitive qns can be very enlightening. For example if the patients starts to cry, you will immediately know that there is a deeper issue.)
I do not think the different times of ovulation between the two ovaries (2 days) would cause a 10+ day difference in menstruation.
I asked if the quality of flow changed from month to month. If one month is much heavier - as it would with a spontaneous abortion, then you would have your answer. (Do not forget that many conceptions fail within the first 2 weeks - that is to say the woman has an abortion but thinks it is a late menses.)
I am not sure how much more pain would be associated with this - but I would expect a heavier flow with lots of clots.
Good luck
Soroush

Dear Soroush,

I wondered abut this as well but wouldn't suggest it as she would be upset. We wondered if it was because of the eggs coming out of a different ovary (as they do) each month.

I have a patient whose cycle is 33/42/31/42/31/43 i.e. 11 ish days late every other cycle . She has also noticed that she ovulates on day 14 on long cycles and day 16 on the short ones.

When I see her next I will question her more closely about the quality of the menses. It was her presenting complaint which was probably why we didn't go into it in depth.
I have now also found that rubric in Murphy's rep.
I have actually given her Agnus Castus herbal - 10 drops tds to take until I see her next as I have used this in the past to regularise menses - but usually absent ones!! (I know that you won't approve of this :-))
Thanks
