I use ginger a lot - both because I enjoy it and because it is
medicinal for me - but I believe one can FEEL when to stop eating it.
Your body does not crave ginger, meat, rice, etc - if you have had
enough already:-)

Hi all,
People suffering from hemorrhoids should not take ginger (the food). It will worsen the symptoms.
This is from herbal lore, not homeopathic.
(But then, you're taking it herbally, ie materally, not homeopathically)
Further: if you are suffering asthma, ginger is excellent before sleep in warm milk. Grated &mixed with honey in equal parts it will stop an asthma attack.
Herbally, ginger is effective in asthma, digestion

Hi,
Was cleaning up today and just happened to come across an article on
Ginger and Cancer:
Researchers from the University of Michigan, US have done experiements
which showed that ginger derived compounds are able to induce cell death
in ovarian cancer cells. Both apoptosis and autophagocytosis were
induced. "It is thought that a pro-inflammatory state contributes to
the development of ovarian carcinogenesis and it is noted that
indicators of inflammation (vascular endothelial growth factor,
interlelukin-8 and prostaglandin E2 ) were also decreased in the ovarian
cancer cells in the presence of ginger..."

And, just for homeopathic fun, I checked the rubric "hemmorrhoids"--and
there it is! (Along with 273 others...)

)
Interesting--I couldn't imagine sweet lil ol' ginger causing any
trouble, but there it is...
Cheers,
Shannon

Hi JROZ,
Would you really??? Pleasant surprise. Which one of the two I
mentioned would you like?
To me both aspects are fascinating - but then I am an Aspie, as
everyone should know by now:-)
and you can self publish
I'll certainly look into that! Thanks for the hint.

Hi Luise
me too, and I love the 'Innocuous' part of the title - it sounds so
ominous...trying to replace coffe has been such an experimental journey
- most of the herbal teas produce some sort of side-effect. I usually
just stick to the squeeze of lemon juice in the hot water. Actually I
think lemon has been proved too.....

I would assume that the zingiber proving was done with potencies!!!
I believe that's the same way that e.g. Lycopodium is able to show
symptoms; the difference between crude substances and potencies!
(Okay, I've just read your remark below re Lyc. provings...)
Some provings, probably esp. newer ones, do indeed give this
information; you can read which symptoms were produced by which
prover(s).
Hm, now that surprises me. Do you remember specific one(s) by any
chance?
Yes, but what I meant was that we do not *accidentally* prove these
things just from the processes of breathing, drinking, being a
water-filled creature

etc.

That sounds fun!
Do you by any chance have a website for any proving(s) of an "innocuous
substance proven with the crude substance"?
I dunno, if it makes good reading I'd think you could...

A friend used Angustura 12c to quit her very heavy-duty coffee
addiction--it worked *great*! She marveled about not getting the
headaches she'd usually get when she tried to quit coffee, and she just
stopped having any interested at all in it. She had 12c and 200c, but
I *think* all she ever used was a few doses of the 12c. (OTOH lemon in
hot water sounds yummy!)
