Hi Gisela,

I have added below a brief piece I wrote about a dog in a similar situation for an article I did. I have also included a YouTube link to a before and after video of her. I should have shot more footage but at the time was only videoing her for my own records.

Molly (the dog) was initially treated with Psorinum and did very well for about six months before relapsing. A follow-on prescription of Baryta carb has fully cleared the case with improvement on all levels. Not only does she have shiny healthy hair, she is confident and interacting with all members of the family and visitors to the home.

The noise in the first part of the clip especially are cicadas - insects that make a terrible noise in the gum trees around our property during summer.

When Sallie first came to see me she was a sorry sight! Large areas of bare and scaley skin covered her back and hind-quarters. Her once glossy coat was dry, rough, and tangled with fur balls. She was constantly scratching. In spite of frequent baths, Sallie was also very smelly.

The homeopathic remedy, Psorinum, was prescribed for Sallie. Within the week her behaviour improved dramatically. She wanted to be with her family, even coming into the house when invited. Her confidence began to improve. Within three weeks Mollie’s fur was growing back at a rapid rate and she no longer smelt. To everyone’s surprise, she even began to bark – something that she had never done before!
Sallie still has the occasional dose of Psorinum if any of her old symptoms start to return. In the future she can look forward to not needing any at all. With homeopathic treatment she has changed from an itchy, smelly unhappy dog to one brimming with confidence and enjoying life with her family.

Thank you very much for the reply.I can sure see a great improvement in Molly - wonderful. Can you tell me what doses you gave? And what strength? The Dog looks a lot like the one in the neighborhood her condition is just worse. The people who adopted her,have no money and 6 other dogs. I like to try helping her she is a sweet dog and pitiful.

Hi Gisela,

I do not have the notes of Molly in front of me but from memory she commenced on 30C. The potency is not where near as important as having the correct remedy, though.

As you would like to help the dog you know, first check in some materia medicas that Psorinum or Baryta carbonica do match the overall symptom of your dog. Pick the one that is the best match.

Start with a 30c potency - dissolve a pilule in a dropper bottle of about 20mls of water or water-alcohol mixture and after succussing the bottle 10 times, squirt a quarter of a dropper into the dogs mouth. Watch what happens over the coming week.

If there is improvement, do not redose until it stalls or symptoms relapse. If there is no improvement, repeat the dose at weekly intervals. If there has been no improvement by 3 doses, stop because you have the wrong remedy.

During the course of treatment you may need to change the potency to say a 200c if improvement stalls but symptoms stay the same (dose exactly as above) or change to a new remedy if the symptoms change.

Dear Gisela,
This case is not similar in some respects but Mezereum 6C daily for 10 days has cured loss of hair conditions in all the 5 dogs that I have treated for similar skin conditions with loss of hair.
