Persistent dream

Hi Michael,

I did a search on my Isis Materia Medicas (I don't have much in there
yet) for 'dreams of plane crashes'- it came up with:

Tyler drug pictures : nux moschata,
The Provings volumes: firefly, bitis arietans, moreton bay fig, culex
pervig, earthworm.

But I was also wondering about the timing of the older materia
medicas - Boeninghausen and Kent especially - I don't think
airplanes were invented back then, so it's not suprising that there's
not much in the old provings and repertories. So maybe it would be ok
to translate to the era equivalent? I guess this would be the fastest
form of travel available back then or it might be about the distance
that it will take you (maybe a boat foundering would be
equivalent), - so it really comes back to the meaning of the dream
to the patient. When you have that meaning you could probably
translate it into a delusion or a fear.
If you generalise it to 'accidents'
Boeninghausen has
Dreams, anxious, misfortune, fatal accidents
Illusions, sees accidents

Complete has
Delusion, sees accidents
Dreams of accidents
Dreams of accidents, crash
Dreams of accidents, explosion
Fear of Accidents

I have Complete too, but don't see that rubric--so I'll bet yours is
more recent than 2000, sigh...
There's also "dreams of accidents", and "... explosions"??

What is the feeling of the dream? Is there fear, excitement,
confusion??? Does flying bother her?

Dear Gail,

Thank you for the good advice. It did not occur to me
to try to generalize the meaning of the dream.
Now I took the rubric "Dreams, anxious, misfortune,
fatal accidents" from Boenninghausen and it has many
of the remedies which appear high in the
repertorization of the case, especially Sulph and Lyc.
This shows the need to think flexibly and approach the
symptoms from different angles, especially if they
seem important, but you do not know how to adjust them
to the case.

Luc de Schepper is writing a book about the use of
dreams in homeopathy, that must be interesting and
useful.

Hi Soroush, Michael,

I should consider the airplane part - in this case - as incidental and
try the rubric: dreams/accidents or even dreams/fire (fire nowadays is
very often assiciated with airplanes, I should think. Perhaps corssed
with dreams violence or such - since it is some violent occurrence
that results in the fire.

software Mercurius. I did not go into the
psychological details of the dream yet.

Could also be "dream anxious" or "dream failure" or even "dream falling."
Perhaps it would make sense to discuss the dream a bit and find out what it
brings to the person's mind and what feelings come up during and after the
dream -- also does it make her/him think of any aspect of life/ history?

I agree that the plane itself is probably accidental -- a convenient picture
for the real nature of the disaster, past, present, or future, that the
subconscious mind is dealing with.
