This from David Little:

I have used many LM Nosodes over the last 17-18 years.
They can be given in the same potencies as any LM remedies, i.e. 0/1. 0/2, 0/3, etc..
One must be careful, however, not to over repeat the Nosodes and give them time to act.

------------------------------

Dr. Choudhury and some of his colleagues only use the LM potency. It is my opinion that this was not Hahnemann's intention. Hahnemann was well aware that the LM 0/1 acted too much like high of a potency to be easily used on some patients so he also used the lower potency Cs in the descending order.

It is my personal experience that some patient that would be aggravated on the LM potency do very well on the 30c - 6c. The LM 0/1 acts like a much higher potency than the 30C. I have seen some cases where these pure LM prescribers are having to use many dilution glasses (and sometimes still getting aggravations) when giving the patient a 30C or lower would work well without aggravations. Many times I have started a sensitive patient on the 6C-30C potency and work them up to the LM 0/1 over time rather than giving them a 200C, which may cause them trouble. This works very well. Hahnemann also used the low potency Cs quite often even though he had the same remedy in the LM potency. Hahnemann used the low to mid-range Cs (6C to 200C) and the LM potencies side by side whenever necessary.

I have not seen any of Hahnemann's cases where he used the nosodes in the LM potency. He did not really use nosodes very often. Once in great while he might give Psorinum or an auto-nosode of TB sputum. This was a very rare experiment for him. So we won't find much information in the Paris casebooks. Lastly, my experience is that one can use the nosodes in the LM potency with the same range of opening potencies (0/1 to 0.7). I have not found that giving the higher potencies in a routine manner to prevent aggravations is necessary. Dr. Choudhury did mention this to me but I have not had one bad aggravation with the LM nosodes in 0/1, 0/2, 0/3 yet but I always give a single test dose first and am very careful about over repetition of these remedies. This seems to work fine. If I ever have any problems I might test a higher (instead of lower potency) but it just hasn't happened yet!

Sincerely, David Little

I'd be curious to know how low in potency people have felt comfortable going with the nosodes. David mentions 6c in this letter. Was he talking about nosodes in this potency? I was taught never to use nosodes in less than 200c, although I've read since some people alluding to using a nosode in 30c. If the nosodes presently are all made from vaccines, as some have suggested on this list, would 6c or 12c still be too low a potency for administering these remedies? Or was that ever actually true? (I've also learned that not everything one was taught in college was necessarily true....)

Well if you think about it, 6C is 1 part in 1,000,000,000,000
which is one part per million million.
Now nobody in the allopathic world worries about toxicity from
contamination of the worst toxins if it is past 1 part per billion
namely 1 part per 1,000,000,000 and in most cases they worry about parts
per million only - or 1 part per 1,000,000.
So why would 1 part per million million be of concern?

The real concern in my eyes is the potency (succussions) not the
dilutions (removing of toxicity). I'd use nosodes by the usual rules,
but I worry about aggravations at low potency unless I am looking to
help mostly physical symptoms or an extremely low life force.
As I say - the usual rules:-)

Namaste,
Irene
