EXPLANATION:-
*Cimicifuga. [Cimic]*
This remedy is especially adapted to the reflex form of spinal
irritation arising from uterine complaints, and where the lumbar region
is most affected. There is sensitiveness to pressure on the upper and
lower cervical vertebrae; the patient cannot lean back in a chair; pains
change about from one part to another. The pressure also sometimes
causes nausea, and there is weakness of the lower extremities and aching
in the lumbar region. Amenorrhoea may be associated with these symptoms.
Sulphur has spinal irritation from suppression of the menstrual flow;
jarring causes pain in the spine. Dry heat in spine. Belladonna. Burning
heat in spine. Stitches in ovaries, bearing down and constant backache.
Gelsemium. Stiffness in neck and nape, with weariness and depression.
Deep seated muscular pains, numb feeling as if feet were going to sleep.
Hypericum. Spinal affections from injury; parts tend to atrophy, pains,
spasms.

Another possibility--I am not familiar with this condition, but since it
involves nerve damage and severe pain, might hypericum come into play?

Medmidas--can you explain why you think of cimicifuga?

The arachnoiditis might be due to the steroid injection- but the
steroid injection is itself given for what - sciatica? Then that
will also have to be taken into account.

Since Arachnoiditis can take different ways of presenting we need to
get more symptoms than what was offered for any kind of
prescription...or even suggestion.

From my experience - the most concrete guidelines for these
conditions are the modalities- whenever I based the prescription on
modalities the effects have been very good and lasting... I have
treated my share of pain conditions and sciatica...

Even tuberculosis can cause arachnoiditis and so Tuberculinum itself
is a possibility- probably even steroid itself in potencies...

there are so many rubrics - spinal irritation, spinal cord
irritation, spine, injury, spine, neuralgia and then the specific
pain type - is it shock like, pins and needles or burning, or
numbness, is there associated muscle wasting etc.etc.

Modalities, peculiar sensations, concomitants - same thing

I have already posted this case here - one disc prolapse for 3
years that became better lying on back - Puls 1M 3 doses cured for
6 months ; recurred with changed modality - better eructations -
Sepia 1M 2 doses cured for another 1 year or more till I lost touch
with the patient...
Tellurium - pain < jerks, coughs and laughs ( used in many cases )

even Phos- weak spine, cannot straighten up from bending, burning
(Phos. burning - in fact might be a good one for Arachnoiditis
given the tuberculoid background)

Staph ( after spinal work - like surgery, physio therapy etc)

Strontia carb- Sciatica < cold, neuritis after hemorrhages, ...

Not to forget Heloderma - walking on sponges feeling with coldness (
lots of cases , mine and friends, even diabetic neuritis with this
sensation responds well)

Plumbum - walking on something soft like sausages, chronic,
lightning like pain..constipation, depression, dullness, urinary
complaints

Alumina- walking on something soft ( one patient complained ' feels
like I am putting my foot on a pillow' cured with this , cushion
feeling also in Apis - but not used)

All of the above I have used in practice and cured or ameliorated
cases with - verified symptoms....and many other remedies, so need
more information for prescribing
So searching for a remedy and settling for something without any
kind of description is probably not very good....
