Good thought, Tanya! I remember him saying that (in his experience) as
many as 60% of sepia prescriptions *ought* to have gotten chocolate!

I noticed it was not in my rep's rubric for "aversion to family", but
see that it is under "Indifference to her children", which I had
totally overlooked!

MIND; INDIFFERENCE, apathy; children, to her (9) : aur-ar., choc.,
hydr-ac., kali-i., lac-h., lyc., nat-c., PHOS., SEP.

(And interesting that Phos and Sep are the two "4's" there!)
I don't feel that I have a good understanding of that remedy, or what
distinguishes it from sepia--can anyone add some?
Shannon

I have to say I have had patients who have done well on Choc when Sepia seems indicated but they have agg on it. I look for dreams of babies in Choc. I think I usually use Vermeulen 2 MM for this one.

brief sx picture: She has constant nausea, no vomiting, tiredness,
intermittent severe migraines, mid-thoracic back pain, thirsty for sips
of icy cold water, and aversion to sweet foods andred meat. Light
craving for salty foods and salmon and cream cheese, and whole milk.
Eats little at a time, nausea worse from eating. Also, has that sick
feeling felt in epigastrium. Intermittentconstipation. Occipital and
nape of neck pain/stiffness. Must havehead propped up. Light rubbing
on epigastrium helps, as does lightrubbing on mid-back. Firm pressure
on neck is desired. Aversion tofirst son. Desires to lie next to
husband. Mood and affect appearto be normal (no weeping, sadness,
fears)-- except moaning from thenausea. Ability to work full-time is
in jeopardy and employer is notempathetic to working mothers. I guess
this would be a fear that shehas, of losing or at very least strife
with employer.Pulsatilla 30C water dose did nothing. Puls 200c gets
rid of migrainewithin 1-2 hours - no headache for almost 2 weeks.
Migraine appearedagain, repeated Puls 200C -- and remedied the
migraine. Puls. helpsslightly with nausea but short relief.Sepia,
Bryonia and Nat. Mur are considerations. Her greatest complaint is the
severe nausea. Any suggestions? What precautions or other
considerations should one be aware of whenprescribing remedies during
pregnancy? Any remedies too avoid? Potency? Repetition? Other?Any
suggestions would be appreciated very much.Kindly,Preston Foell

Dear Sandeep

Pls could you tell us where you learnt homoeopathy and where in the Organon
or any of the recognised masters' writings you find such a way of
prescribing.

Soroush

Hi Finrod,
I am giving my opinion.. and I think it should be nearly close to the truth, if not absolutely justified by the readers.
I think you will get answer to it if you regularly and consistently read the vast literature on the subject. Moreover, How and why and where ? these answers are all the way there in Philosophy .. about potency .. and relevant experiences .. it is we all who may differ. .. It is the Principles we follow, the method we follow but really we do not follow each exactly as others do .. we always come across various, though slightly different personalities, conditions.. and we realise that it is an art to prescribe.. not only science.. and we have to use the Art, the Science and our experience .. to understand what you are asking others here.

Twice daily for a week would be enough for *some* people to give
proving symptoms...

But Preston--altho you had posted this case a while back, I don't think
you told us what had ever worked out--if anything?

Dear Sandeep
If I read your answer correctly, the answer is that Hn never taught that prescriptions should be as you have stated below.
The 'second prescription' is the most difficult in homoeopathy. A remedy MUST NEVER be blindly repeated and at any rate, never too often. One must always evaluate the status of the patient before proceeding. There must ALWAYS be a justification as to why a remedy should be given.
If you turner the starter key of a car and the engine fires (however irregularly) you do not turn the key again while the engine is running or else you risk severe mechanical damage.
The same applies to the vital force.
Many a case is spoiled by the incorrect second prescription.
To then go on and repeat high potency as you have offered below is beyond me. I cannot find any justification.
So what I am asking is for you to justify your prescription.

Soroush
