Re: remedy before mammogram?

Hi Vera,
LOL, surely those who "believe in prophylaxis" will say "Yes, give it
to her before!" Those who "don't believe in it", will say "No, wait
until after, and treat according to the symptoms if any." But--You
knew that! :-D

I won't express an opinion either way at the moment--but if she is so
fearful of the mammogram, *and* there have been so many (IMO) very good
reasons published for *not* taking mammograms, why doesn't she just
skip it? Might the new(ish) "thermal imaging" technology be a better
alternative?

(A few years back someone had posted a VERY FUNNY "review" of mammogram
procedure--does anyone by any chance have that? I seem to have lost
mine.)

Dear Soroush
(I had not read the previous exchanges about the breast symptoms etc,
You didn´t read the question, but you know the answer is wrong?

When Homoeopaths discuss cases and matters with each other
A case- in my understanding of Homoeopathy- is not just a clinical condition. If we are presented symptoms, modalities, concomitants etc. we can start discussing,

But if simple hints or suggestions are not welcome here, I can adapt.

but I´m a bit touchy about : for your answer you would get bad marks. Thats not the way colleagues should talk to each other IMO.

Hi Shannon,
I did suggest the thermal imaging, although I'm not sure it's available here. I chickened out of recommending that she skip the whole process... there have been lawsuits for less...
I was wondering whether just to give her a remedy for the fear and apprehension (e.g. Gels) before the procedure, and then the other stuff. Alternatively to give her placebo before the procedure.

remedy before mammogram?

Post by Ruby »

Vera,
In December of 2004, there was a long thread about mastectomy & mammograms.
The highlight of remedy recommendations were:
It is my understanding that there is current argument as to the efficacy of mammograms. Otherwise I would reflect upon the following Rx: Carcinosum, Ferrum Iodatum; Conium Maculatum, Hydrastis Canadensis, Galium Aparine, Hydroquinone, Sulfur.
Hope this is helpful.

As I said before I would give Arnica (for the potential shock and bruising :-)) before as well as 1 Arnica afterwards and then onto Bellis P for the internal bruising. I personally think both are needed!!

Dear Peter
Where did I say the answer was wrong?
Would it not be better if hints and suggestions were justified? That way we learn. State the name of the remedy on its own and we learn little and soon forget.
I am sorry if I have given offence. None was intended. I am just trying to get us more efficient.

My answer will no doubt be controversial but here goes:
I'd use Staphisagria to give her the courage to say "no" to a mammogram.
If she wants a breast check, esp with fibroids increasing pain of a
mammogram, I'd suggest asking for a thermography instead. (The fibroids
will not show up as they are not hot.)

Would it really be more valuable if the 5 people responding had copied
their MMs into the mail? Don't we all have MMs to look up the remedies
we are interested in?

Regards

thanks Irene,
Interestingly enough when she first came to me a little over a year ago, she was just before a knee operation and I prescribed Staph for her as in keeping with symptoms and mental/emotional state before the op, with Staph and Arnica for after - and the Staph was very helpful!
Thanks for your input,
Vera

Hi Luise,
Well no, we don't all. Bellis is I think a well-represented one, and
anyone with Boericke can get the basics, but that's not true (not by a
long shot) of all of the remedies recommended for this and that. I
think Soroush's request was intended as a general practice, not with
reference only to that specific mention.

Also, people's comments re their experience and understanding about a
remedy often add a lot, don't you agree?
