Dear all,
for what its worth, there's lots and lots of otherwise wellfed, healthy fat people who get AIDS. While no doubt poverty and its linked health-social conditions leads to a poor immune system and hence a more virulent spead of aids among the poor, there are, nevertheless, plenty of people who get AIDS who are not in that social class. So that particular one is a myth and a misconception of the life of African people.

in Kenya, while the upper class does has access to modern "junk food", still the greater population depends on non-junk, non-additive foods, since packaged food is considered something of a luxury. Generally its maizemeal, rice, beans, un-processed "organic" -if you will- meats, indigenous & other veggies, fruits, wholegrain protein porridge. The only real failings in the Kenyan diet is generally too much sugar, tea, white bread, cooking fats and deep-fried potatoes. If you have money- you generally eat a wellbalanced diet. If you are poor, you eat one meal a day, usually lacking in proteins and too much sugars and hydrogenated fats.

Now, Kenya is much more modern than many other countries in Africa. and so it's true the diet is getting "westernized" somewhat. In other countries, tho, the luxury of junk food is not very available. Their diet, pre-AIDS or post-AIDS, hasn't changed.

poverty contributes to the spread of AIDS, but I don't believe malnutrition is a primary causation.

from your personal experience, what do you think contributes to aids in
africa?

i subscribe to the belief that aids was intentionally injected (pun
intended) into the
african public as part of the eugenics program supported by many of the
richest
corporate people of the world. there is too much information available to
discount
this. we do know that for countries to receive aid from organizations such
as the
world bank, leaders are pressured to agree to withhold human services on
every
level, while agreeing to promote the kinds of development that support
corporate
need; ie airports, hotels for traveling political and corporate leaders,
etc. acceptance
of the aids infection was one of these blackmailing pressures. i know some
people
may think this too political and too paranoid a statement, but the
information is
there despite the attempts to have it suppressed.

vaccinations are the simplest method of dissemination. the plasma was
included
in the vaccines and we all know how the vaccination program burgeoned in the
last quarter of the 20c, along with aids.

The biggest employers are the gold mines. I grew up on the biggest
mine in the southern hempisphere (Vaal Reefs) (and my dad was in
management there). Those mines are at the core of the economy and
provide the company's main source of income - have done for a long time
- and would go out of business without the black population as the main
work force.
Forget the urban legends about eugenics!
