A useful set of rubrics from the Therapeutic Pocketbook:
- In crush injury or trauma to the joints and bone: "As if flesh was beaten
(or knocked) off the bone".
- In soft structures: "Violent tearing, (drawing, dragging) pain, - as if
torn apart (torn to pieces)".
- "Loose sensation, tearing pain enough to dislodge the part, as if the
actual attachment will give way." (Tendons, muscles)
- "Torn out sensation, ripped-off, as if all resistance has yielded and the
part has been torn out."
