Had very similar experience with that group. I completely disagree with Mr. Lau's concepts (and am saddened when anyone feels the need to consider animals as 'lesser creatures') and I greatly appreciate the discussions on this list that include animal cases. However, there are times I would like to have access to a group that focuses more on homeopathic and holistic animal care. Does anyone have suggestions of other pet oriented homeopathy groups that interact on a bit more 'professional' and level?

Dr. Lau:

I feel the same as Diane. Lesser creatures!!!!??? If you are so
non-caring about homeopathy's ability to heal a dog, how can you be
sensitive to saving/curing the life-force of your patients? In my opinion,
a truly caring homeopath would care about ALL life. You are missing one of
the best opportunities as a student of homeopathy: Dogs can be the best
teachers because they do not make up symptoms; if symptoms are present they
are real without the emotional involvement that a human patient would bring
to the table.

I joined this list to learn from the experts about homeopathy and your
statement and non-sensitivity for animals has made it very clear to me that
I would never believe your posts to have credence. That's not the
homeopathy I want to learn.

strictly classical, but a lot more open to chronic illness

The owner of the list, ClassicalHomeopathyPets, does state that she
does not want chronic discussions at all and from what I experienced
no acute discussions are allowed despite stating so.

Not arrogance but IMHO and try to suggest what a homeopath has on his mind.
You have a point but you keep it till kingdom comes, if that is the right
one, you are in closed mind group.

IMHO, open mind put forward suggestion and often it is silenced by the
teacher-like manner. He, the teacher, is always more right than any student
( who will be a teacher one fine day, hope so ! )

Hi Dr. Lau,
The interesting thing is that one *can* prescribe very successfully for
animals, using just the same skills that we develop to treat people,
esp., as was mentioned, infants or others who can't or won't
communicate verbally. It's very interesting to do, and can be really
thrilling to see the results.

As an example of very practical application (in addition to the very
practical matter of caring for one's pets), there are an increasing
number of commercial dairy farmers who use homeopathy--sometimes *only*
homeopathy--on their herds, treating all the usual ills of dairy
cattle--mastitis, foot rot, various diseases, etc. In this way they
have healthier animals, without need of drugs or antibiotics, and save
money as well. Would you agree that these are useful effects? What
are your thoughts about that situation?

A homeopath has on his mind, or should have, the desire to heal/cure any
living creature, from humans to plants.
Period.
To claim that one category is lesser than another is arrogant. Different
indeed, more difficult and challenging, yes, but the value of life does not
depend on whether you walk on 2 legs, 4 legs or no legs, fly, swim or do not
move.
It is called respecting all forms of life; using them with thanks for our
survival, yes, making them less, never.
Because I claim to have an open mind does not me I (or anyone else) has to
accept or agree with your opinion; it only means I have to examine it fairly
