Yes I have treated Tourettes. Hyos improved it an awful lot and I think he
is free of it now. His Tourettes was quite mild- jerking the head back and
making noises.

Yes, agreed; that's why I copied it, as I thought it strange too, as
both Syph and Tub really should be in there. It would be better to
stick to the wider and more general rubric of Compulsive maybe.

Thanks Rochelle. Yes, quite a mild case in comparison to the one I
was reading about recently. Most people think Tourette's Syndrome has
swearing/cursing, but the more common sx is as you say, making noises.
I sometimes wonder how Jan Scholten arrives at these 'ideas', as
Zinc-p is not recorded in the repertory under Compulsive disorders,
nor cursing, nor impulse to do strange things. Was it just from one
case I wonder, or did he draw conclusions ? I guess we'll never know.
Hyos really sounds more understandable in this syndrome.

I can also see why Joy is suggesting Gelsemium -- but the intense mirth
alternating with irritability you're describing doesn't quite resonate for
me with Gels either.

This description of the child with the mail gives some great symptoms to
work with. You also need to correlate this with the chief complaint and
with the most striking modalities to find the most resonant remedy, I
suspect.

Must have missed the mirth/irritability post but Rosemary is right,
some physical generals/particulars would always serve to round off a
case when you have a group of rx to choose from - Crocus being a
haemorrhagic rx and the flushing face indicates a rise of blood. I
would still say the flushing and trembling is very important + now
alternation - which is more important, the fact that the moods
alternate or the fact that they alternate between a kind of mirth and
then irritability - ranking of sx is always necessary.

calcarea has worked well for him...but it isn't touching the
obsessions...mail and sweets.
i'm looking at the Labiatae family. a nervous family,.it has his
hyperactivity, lots of EXCITEMENT with trembling

for activity, desire to be included and therefore pleasing. He uses a

Gives even more credibility to Rosemary's idea for anacardium and if
the manipulative/sweet nature is dominant then this could bring in
Thuja (fixed ideas, obsessive, can definitely have a hurried and
excited state, fastidious, trembling, possible vaccine damage as I
haven't read anything about causation) and also the spiders such as
Tarentula (impulsive, has no control, hurried, manipulative, lots of
eating disorders, alteration of moods, trembling, face gets fiery red
with all the energy).

tried to unravel this..........only thing seems to be a medorrhinum miasm (

loosely) directly from his father's line...........

re: anacardium...i'll review this remedy..but my understanding of this
remedy is that
the underside is quite 'black'...i.e. potential to torture animals , etc.
this child is sweet...his eyes, his appeal is sweet...his underside is an
obsessive excitement..........
Scholten differentiates ( his addendum) between the different causes of
excitement..i.e.
nervous, dullness or boredom..........i'm thinking his is dullness..so i'm
going to revisit that family of remedies.
