Marleen,
If you have been reading up on these conditions, then you probably are
looking for a treatment angle rather than the medical
There is a book I have with some suggestions - Kichlu & Bose: Descriptive
Medicine: B.Jain Publishers
Hyperparathyroidism - look at
For tumor: Calc, Fluor, Carbo-an, Con, Hydrastis, & Arsenicum (if operation
is not recommended)
For marasmus (malnutrtition): Calc-phos, Calc, Iodide, Calc-carb, Iodine,
Nat-mur, Mag-carb, Sulphur, Hepar-sulph and Baryta-carb
For renal Calculi & colic: Berberis-vulg, Lyco, Bell, Calc-carb,
Calc-renalis, Sarsaparilla
Hypoparathyroidism - look at
General diet should be phosphorus free - Milk is a suitable diet
Treatment should be resorted to according to individual complaints for (1)
spasm or convulsions, 92) constipation, (3) neurasthenia etc.
Aconite and Thyroidinum are two principal remedies
Graves - Adrenaline 3x
Bell - cervical glandular inflammation acute & painful
Iodine - sweling of gland, hard, painless & sluggish
Barium-iode, Merc-iode, Ferr and Calc-Iodes as well
Bromine - goitre with hard inelastic swelling
Calc-fluor - glanduar enlargement
Fucus-v - nontoxic & exo. goitre
Iodothyrine - affects metabolism & reduces weight
Lapis-albus - goitre, diarrhoea with anaemic symptoms & increased
appetite, elastic swollen glands
Spongia - goitre hard and large with suffocating attacks, swelling with
tension and painful to touch
Thyroidinum
Lycopus verginicus - exo. goitre when eyes protude and tumultuous action of
heart.
From Blackwood - Ductless glands
For Myxedema look at Ferrum-ars, Glonoin, and Pilocarpine
For Goitre look at Kali-hydriodicum, Fluor-ac, Hep-sulph, Puls, Badiaga,
Barya-carb, Lycopus-v, and Fucus vesic.
Regards
Robyn
