Diet and Symptoms [Was: History of Homeopathy - more on Decline of Homeopathy in US]

Post by Fran Sheffield »

Do you see signs and symptoms as arising from the basic imbalance of the person even though they may be triggered by poor dietary habits - which themselves may be symptoms of the imbalance?

I see S & S as the body's response to a stressor, revealing the potential of the underlying state rather than effects superimposed by an outside influence. I guess Hahnemann spoke about it as the dormant and active miasm.

I imagine both ways work - and they obviously do.

Once again, with not all symptoms being equal, the skill is in identifying the significant symptoms and then prescribing on those.

I look forward to your book being published.

Fran.

It is always a mix of both.

But removing harmful foods is the same as removing the patient from humidity.....the symptoms created by the exposure to the harmful situation disappear and only the "pure" (I do not like that word) ones, related to the patient's imbalance remain, so I do not have to deal for example with "abdominal pain, relieved by hard pressure and flatulence" as the major complaint that is in fact a reaction to gluten.
See what I mean?

Joe.
