Re: please help
Hi Freek,
What is the intonation behind the repetition, is simple copying or is there
an element of questioning. i.e. if the patient is seemingly repeating to
make sure they are hearing you correctlty, then perhaps they are unsure of
their own understanding, perhaps a difficulty in assimilating. The reason
why they do this would be important and then perhaps from that you could get
rubrics.
regards,
Paul

Hi Freek
Have you looked at MIND - IMITATION - mimicry?
Your patient may be doing it for pleasure as in jesting, or in a mocking
manner, or as a compulsion etc.
You could also look at Mind - mocking, Mind - aping, Mind - Reflecting
Hope this helps

Dear Freek,
This is called echolalia. (One of the characters in a film showing here at
the moment called "Mrs. Caldicot's Cabbage War" has it.). It is not likely
that someone would have this symptom and no others that you could prescribe

Hello,
there are some possibilis to look at your case. First, why he repeats?
Possiblitis:
1. Mind, answering; repeats the question first.
2. Dullness understand question.
3. Mind, Dullness, understand; does not, questions addressed to her,
repetition, only after.
4. Mind, Repeating.
5. see delirium, repeats, or speech repeats, or gestures, repeats.
6.Mind, imitation, mimicry.

Hi,
You may also consider the following rubric
MIND - ANSWERING - repeats the question first
ambr.;1;k caust.;2;k hell.;1;kr1 kali-br.;1;k med.;2;ckh1 med.;2;vh
med.;2;vh/dg med.;2;vhx1 sulph.;1;k sulph.;1;mrr1 zinc.;2;k zinc.;2;mrr1
Herscue saya as follows in his Stramonium.
"Gilles de la Tourette's syndrome may be ameliorated by the use of this
remedy. Symptoms can begin in childhood, around seven to eleven years, with
multiple tics anywhere in the body. By the time the individual enters
puberty, however, the facial tics, echolalia (involuntary repetition of
words that are heard), cursing and involuntary barking may already have
begun, as well as the tendency to hold his penis. All these symptoms will be
very similar to Hyoscyamus. Yet if violence is present along with fears,
accompanied by intense facial expressions when vocalizing, this would
indicate Stramonium."
With best wishes,
V.T.Yekkirala.
