Re: FIND THE REMEDY'S NAME (149)
The chief reputation of xxxxxx amongst homoeopaths is for its usefulness in
diarrhoea.
In this complaint they have utilized it to the best advantage.
As we do not prescribe our remedies for diseases by name, (for that would
throw us into great confusion, there being so many hundreds of remedies for
diarrhoea), we must find out the characteristic features of xxxxxx, pointing
to its application.
The first and the foremost is the way in which the stools are expelled.
They come out all at once with a single and somewhat prolonged effort.
The second point is the suddenness of the urging; the third and final point
consists of the feeling, obtained immediately after the stool, of great
relief in the abdomen, as if some irritating substances were removed from
the intestines.
There is great burning in the anus.
It is used both in the acute and chronic cases of diarrhoea and dysentery.
It closely remembles Aloes, Croton tig., Gratiola, and Oleander.
We have also great rumbling and gurgling and inflammation of the abdomen.
The stools are profuse, watery, sometimes yellow, sometimes greenish and
lienteric.
It has some important symptoms of the eyes and the throat.
Violent itching of the canthi and eyelids, pain in the small of the back as
if sprained, pain in the sacrum, and gnawing pain in the coccyx, are
important landmarks of xxxxxx.
The pain in this remedy, wherever it may be, is of a burning character.
