You are absolutely right. The physician to Her Majesty the Queen left a great deal to be desired.
There is a line in Persian poetry "You cannot regard your enemy as weak and humble" -If you do, it leads o arrogance and a downfall soon follows!
And that was Fisher's mistake in my also frustrated view. I could not believe it when he opened with statistics, which is Ben Goldacre's area of expertise.
I hope there will be a next time - but a great opportunity was lost.

the one who knows more. I have often spoken on the need for homepaths to learn more
about public speaking and presentation. Fischer missed the beat many times in this
forum and I was very frustrated listening to him. He generated no confidence in me and
the audience was affected by this as well. This forum needs to be studied, dispassionately,
and analyzed for the styles and presentations of the speakers. There is much to be learned.

I have never known Peter Fisher speak up well yet. He should stick to homeopathy and leave the speaking to someone else!! Surely the FHom can find a better ambassador. I suppose it is because he is the Queen’s homeopath that it is him we always see!!

I am so glad to hear you say this Soroush. So many people seemed to
think the debate was great. My sense is that it could not have been better
planned by big pharma itself, it was so bad.
When you study marketing and branding techniques, one thing to do is to
chose 3 or 4 points, develop the quippy adage to go along with them and keep
repeating like a mantra. Homeopaths seem to refuse to learn this marketing
truth. Goldacre, on the other hand, is very adept at this. Fischer just wanted
to look nice and pleasant, as if that would sell an idea to people uninformed.
Goldacre had his pleasant appearance, too, but he was so on target with his
points and delivered them with sharp precision. Fischer was like a wet noodle.
Ugh!!!!
