Very OT: Winds of change

Post by Tanya Marquette »

These ideas are certainly not new but with the winds of war blowing, maybe a little collective outrage can have some influence
and put some of these ideas into the heads of those who haven’t thought of them already.

Winds of Change
Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. At least 20 if you can. It has to stop somewhere.
In three days, most people in The United States of America will have this message.
This is one idea that really should be passed around
*Congressional Reform Act of 2013
1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.
Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don't you think it's time?
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!
If you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, just delete.

Contact the Presidents office and your local legislators. They are the ones needing bombarding.
You can get their info online at their websites. Everyone of them has contact info with email and
phone number.
If you don’t want to call long distance, they all have local offices which you can easily call.
The President has contact info, too. http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/submi ... d-comments
On this site you will find email/letter writing forms as well as a phone number to call. Most likely it will be an
answer machine, but leave a message keeping it brief and to the point.
Calling your legislators should get you a real person who will/should take down your position and points. Again,
try to be succinct and clear.
thanks

I am a little suspicious. This does not sound like Warren Buffet. This sounds like right wing ideas, and Warren Buffet is a liberal. But, in any case, I like these ideas very much and I sent them to all of my contacts.

It may surprise you but polls always indicate that when you remove partisan language, the majority of the public
supports socialistic ideas and rails against autocratic control. So if you forget whose name is on this and just
think on the ideas, the vast majority of the public will support them.

this was listed as VERY Off topic.
however, with a stretch of the imagination, it does relate to homeopathy
as it talks about creating a political climate which would be much more open
to homeopathy and the creation of greater freedom of health access. in a
changing political structure which would ensure greater participation of
‘regular’ folk I have no doubt that big pharma would lose much of its power
and holistic protocols would find favor in regulatory process.

Re: Very OT: Winds of change

Post by Roger B »

These ideas allegedly presented by Warren Buffet are not politics, they are good political science. So-called politics is really political haranguing, bashing people who disagree with oneself.

A young lady says to a famous revolutionary: "I am not interested in politics." And Leon Trotsky says to the young lady: "You may not be interested in politics, my dear, but I can assure you that politics is interested in you."

I always tell my children that politics is not very important, until it goes wrong. Soroush, gradually, slowly, imperceptibly, politics is going wrong in the most powerful country in the history of the world. It will impact homeopathy. I understand your desire to stay on topic, but I think that these ideas presented allegedly by Warren Buffett will help greatly get the USA back on track and to help it stop being a threat to homeopathy and everything else that we hold dear.

But aside from good political science ideas that will help, I see no reason why divisive politics should be allowed in this forum. Most of what passes for politics is divisive political haranguing. These idea are more like good political science.

Sincerely,
Roger Bird

I support it 110%, but I don't see how it is socialistic. I am sure that I have heard this sort of think coming from libertarians and tea party folk.
