When I talk to people about food, (i do cooking classes and GMO info classes) I tell them the how to start but the biggest road block is the expense of healthy vs. crap food. So i tell them just start with the worst produce and the meat. the way to equalize the meat cost is just eat less and replace with plant proteins, beans, hemp, spiralina, etc.
Not everyone can buy all organic or grow enough in the backyard. My way of survival avoiding contaminated food is buy certain categories only organic, berries, leafy greens, root veggies and meat are tops on my list. there are some i don't worry too much about. Herbs can be grown almost anywhere and used in everything.
i also explain the healthier you eat the less you have to pay for meds and doctors and loss of work time. of course i push alternative medicine to fix problems not just cover the symptoms up.
anyhow, i just learned about this site and think it would be a good tool in showing people how crappy most of the food at the grocery store is.
i also believe the more people start shopping at health food stores the prices will go down and the more people get exposed to information, people, ideas you learn by associating with more health minded people the more alternative health care providers will be accepted.
as mentioned int he thread on the new health care system that will destroy alternative medicine (my opinion) most sheeple only trust medical doctors. mainly because the media, government ans gen society try to paint them as quacks and hocus-pokus
i know this group is homeopath but in i believe the best way to promote it is getting people open to alternative thinking. they have had media bias for a life time and it takes most people baby steps to open up to new ideas

I have been gone for a whole month.

Tamara, Vikki, Roger and others thank-you for your balanced and informed discussion. It seems that chemicals in an organic setting such as our bodies are not just the chemicals as physical phenomnon in a non-organic setting. Amount and frequency are important issues because these chemicals interact with other microbes good and bad. One has to wade through much discussion to find a thread that seems reasonable, but that is the thought process, I believe. Again, Thank-you.
