Why philosophy, in this case?

Why do I lay my homeopathic philosophy on you? I mean, other than I like to pontificate.

It is not because I think that it will help you convince someone. Perhaps it will, I hope that it does, but probably not very often if ever. I lay these thoughts on you so that you will have some thoughts that will defend your feelings from the mean-spirited attacks that come our way whenever we bring up the subject of homeopathy.
