Dear Administrator
I floated my suggestion to the members that following information should be given by the participants with their messages for better communication :
Sex, Age,City, Practicing Homeopath or Student or Layman
However one may hide these information if one does not wish to give them, it is no compulsion.
It is surprising or looks to me inappropriate that my message has been ignored/lost without telling any reason. I shall appreciate if I receive your comments on this point.

Re: Suggestion
I don't see why not. In fact, why not provide a list for new members to see?
This would be an evolutionary move in the life of the list. Of course,
members who don't want to be listed formally shouldn't have to be. I think
this would be a great service. Sue.

Re: Suggestion
You know, in this age of invasion of privacy, there are probably plenty of people who may not wish to disclose this much information about themselves on a very public forum. Sometimes giving Age, or Sex, hometown, one degree vs a different degree, religion, race......these types of questions, promote discrimination.
Just a thought...

Re: Suggestion
Dear Ruby,
One surely would not be expected to give all those personal details - just
details relevant to homeopathy training, experience etc. and possibly
country.

Re: Suggestion
Personally, when I read the request I had no objection to anyone
*knowing* those things about me, but didn't want to take the time to put
down random information for unknown purposes. I'd rather that if
someone wants to know something about me, they just ask!
Shannon

useful info about my credibility or anything, anyway!

I find this information irrelevant to replying to any question. I would

to a lot of one-up-man-ship. It can also lend to agism, sexism and possibly
racism when place of orgin is noted. No one has to accept any answer as
truth or the only way. One of the best homepaths I ever met never had any
formal training and the words from this person are gold to me. That someone
should be slighted due to lack of degree is a shame.
I would assume that all who read upon this list take all advise and points of
view and judiciouly discriminate information according to their own
experience and education.
I find the request for age and sex particularly distasteful and what does it
have to do with anything anyway?
and as Shannon put it: "... But that doesn't really give
