so would you say that arthritis, for example, an inflammatory condition is also related/caused by thymus damage?

It's not caused by poor nutrition and drug abuse.
But if you damage your body significantly - especially thymus damage (as thymus is the organ of resistance to *chronic* diseases like HIV) then the HIV virus will be ready to attack. It cannot attack a really healthy system, as there are mechanisms to kill any invading virus.
Drug use indeed can damage the thymus. So can vaccines, and a number of other abuses of a healthy system.
The damage to the system makes us *susceptible* to an HIV virus (or other chronic disease attack), where a healthy individual (with a healthy thymus) will engulf the virus or cancer cell etc, inside a neutrophil and then into a (larger) macrophage and will get rid of it, so that it cannot take over the system and cause damage.
Because the thymus damage does not easily come right, and the virus which causes HIV will continue to do harm, or at best go dormant a while.
Homeopathy is the only system I know that definitely heals thymus, thus restoring resistance and immune system function.
The HIV disease IS caused by a virus.
But it can only happen in people who are susceptible due to thymus damage (which in turn can happen due to drugs or poor nutrition - but that does not make the drugs or poor nutrition the CAUSE of HIV or any other disease - it just is the cause of susceptibility to diseases (including HIV, but not limited to HIV).
To get the actual disease, it is not enough to be susceptible due to damaged thymus - it needs the virus to attack as well. SO disease is about viral attack DURING susceptibility. Or cancer cell formation DURING susceptibility. (When we are not SUSCEPTIBLE to cancer, then we will kill any cancer cells via the thymus which sends "natural killer cells" to do the job. But it can only do that if the thymus condition is healthy - and not susceptible/damaged.
The thymus is the MOST essential aspect of our immunity. (Forget antibodies, they are part of a *backup* system only - and it is a backup for acute infections only, can NOT help chronic ones..... and should never be needed. The thymus is the first line of defense, and the ONLY one that has techniques against CHRONIC diseases like AIDS and Cancer.)

Just ONE low dose of steroid for example, will turn a healthy thymus into an almost useless one.

It is not hard to understand from these pictures, just how badly the thymus is compromised in preventing chronic disease............and this is ONE dose of a drug that damages thymus.
Some vaccines are recorded to damage up to 90% of the thymus.
Do the drug companies know? Yes.
Do they care? No.

It turns out that it is illegal to use dexamethosone or other glucocorticoid hormones to try to make cows get fat just before market time and sell for more per pound. (One pound of protein becomes 5 pounds of fat if you use a glucocorticoid steroid like dexamthosone, so you can see the profit motive.)
But it is easy to know if the farmer did that, as they just look at the thymus, and this is a typical example where one farmer was caught dosing his cows with too little to detect in the blood - but easy to see the thymus damage at slaughter time.
By contrast, ANY natural acute disease tends to improve thymus health a little, the opposite of what vaccines do.
Thymus function improves after a good homeopathic simillimum is used.
I do not know of any other ways to improve it. Most of us have the kind of thymus in the "AFTER" picture.
So we are sitting ducks for cancer, lymes, HIV and whatever else happens to come along.
