Measles discussion

Post by Kristy Lampe »

I’m puzzled because only ‘prevention’ of measles and other disease is being discussed.
Homeopaths have the tools to help one get THROUGH disease, not suppressing it or trying to dodge it.
Shouldn’t we be championing that?

Kristy

yes, this whole prevention with homeoprophylaxis is ONLY giving bad attention to homeopaths and many of us don't think that should be done (blanket homeoprophylaxis).

Prevention in the vicinity of the illness has been done since Hahnemann, for those for whom it is dangerous to 'get' the disease. But this blanket mimicking of allopathic vaccinations is part of what is bringing homeopathy down, in my opinion.

This whole issue is due to the business model of allopathic medicine—selling vaccines.
It promotes hysteria about being sick.
When I was growing up the issue of vaccines was to cut the work days lost by parents
who had sick children at home. Keeping staff at work is part of the business model of
all companies so those owners support vaccines.
And since workers are pressured over their attendance, parents see sick children as a
liability for their survival.
Nasty paradigm that has nothing to do with health

I absolutely agree with you except in UK measles is a notifiable disease and we are not allowed to say we treat diseases or conditions!!

Well, if we really do what we say we do we (almost) never treat a
disease or condition, right?

Hennie is right - we don't treat the disease name, we treat the person and their symptoms

I was referring to the fact that Kristy asked why we weren’t offering info on how homeopathy can get patients through measles.

but the trick is to get the public
realize that measles is treatable
using homeopathy without actually
saying out loud 'we can treat disease X'
it about good PR and advertising -
subjects which homeopaths usually
aren't very good at.

can easily say can help get through illnesses children experience including what is called measles.

And notifiable just means you have to notify that you have certain diseases, not that those are diseases you can't say you can cure.

Just for my information - in the UK, you can't *say* you treat measles,
but in case you see a case of measles, you can treat?
