CLASSICAL HOMEOPATHY : was Homeopathy Short Story Contest

Post by Soroush Ebrahimi »

Dear Jeff
Classical Homeopaths are those who follow Hn's instructions (as per The Organon and Chronic Diseases in the main).
Principles of Classical Homoeopathy.
The modern Classical Homoeopath understands and applies the following concepts:
1. The role of Vital Force

2. Susceptibility

3. Miasms

}
THESE DEFINE THE INDIVIDUAL.

4. Proving

5. Symptom similarity

6. Dilution & Potentisation

7. Prescription of a SINGLE remedy and waiting for reaction.

8. Herring’s Laws of cure

That is to say, the symptoms will move in the following manner:

* From more vital organs to lesser organs

* Generally from inside out (taking the least harmful and shortest route)

* Generally from head towards the toes
In applying the above, the modern Classical Homoeopath:

* Studies and re-studies the Organon, Chronic Diseases and books by Kent, Boger, Farrington, Herring and others in depth and keeps homoeopathic principles in the foreground of mind.

* Maintains / improves the standards of Homoeopathy, always questioning what is read or heard and asking without hesitation.

* Does not engage or enter into futile transcendental speculations.

* Whilst trying to recognise his or her prejudices, strives to be an unprejudiced observer, concerning both the patient and the remedy.

* Understands miasms and their effects.

* Is humbled by working with the enormous power of the Vital Force and potentised remedies.

* In acute and chronic cases, takes the whole case and while prioritising on the important symptoms, prescribes on the totality of presenting symptoms covering mental, emotional, general, modalities, rare and peculiar symptoms that often lead to the Similimum.

* REPERTORISES every time, even when a known remedy case appears to be presenting.

* In selecting a remedy, uses every tool available including the advice of colleagues.

* If in doubt does not prescribe but rechecks notes or retakes the case on another day.

* Uses only one remedy at a time, never repeating until the results and the reaction of the Vital Force have been observed. (Of course in acute cases one may have to prescribe every few minutes)

* Does not use unproven remedies.

* Selects the potency of the remedy with great care.
I hope this clarifies the situation for you and other colleagues.
It is never Homeopathy that fails, but the homeopath. What the above gives us is the ability to retrace our work and see where we have gone wrong or have not had enough information.
Our goal should be to achieve the goals as set out in aphorism 3 and become a true practitioner of the healing art.
Rgds

Please explain to me what or who is a 'Classical Homeopath'? Are classical homeopaths those old

fashioned, closed minded practitioners who refuse to change with advancing scientific homeopathy?

If so I refuse to join those 'old crocs' and will have to refrain from the short story competition.

So, a 'classical homeopath' per say, is one that follows to a 'T' the way SH practiced and prescribed, without wasting time on learning or speculating on remedies. I shall have to fall back on the 90 odd remedies he used and disregard those that came later. Also I shall not try to understand how remedies work or learn their molecular structures. Perhaps I shall then become a true classical homeopath.

No one has said that. SH left guidelines for its further development, based on what he learnt - yes, to a 'T'. Many new remedies have been developed and used since SH times, but based on provings, not speculation.
It's easy and cheap to speculate, but SH's guidelines helps to sort the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.
