Potencies
Potencies
You are quite correct, Soroush, about the 'C' and the 'X' potencies.
Theta is used for MT, but in India I have seen labels typed with Q to represent MT. I suppose as the greek symbol is not available on manual typewriters they just type Q.
You have written the following:
"So to get to 200 C we need 200 x 100 drops
Each 100 drops is approx 3.5 ml
So to reach 200C we need 200*3.5/1000= 0.7 litres."
The last line above would give you only 1C and not 200C as at each stage you would have to succuss the 3.5ml with (3.5ml x 99ml )= 346.5ml to get 2C potency
of this 346.5 ml you would take only 3.5 ml and chuck the rest to reach 3C potency and discard 346 minus 3.5ml= 342.5 ml. So at every stage you would be discarding 342.5 ml. Therefore to reach 200c you would discard 200 x 342.5 ml = 68500/1000 = 68.5litres and you would then have 342.5 ml of the remedy at 200C potency. That is just 68.5 teaspoons of 200C remedy and you would have discarded 68.5 litres. to get a litre of the remedy, you would discard (68.5 lt x 200) = 13,700 ltrs approx.
And that is just one remedy at 200C. There's got to be another way.

Re: Potencies
Dear Jeff
I am surprised you could not follow the logic.
Each C potentisation stage requires a total of 100 drops which is approx 3.5 ml.
So to reach 200 C, one would require 200 x 3.5 ml which is equal to 0.7 litre
As the meerkats advert states SIMPLES!!
Kind regards
Soroush

Re: Potencies
Actually remedy "providers" stop at 199-C and store that. From it they
extract further
many more as for each new preparation of C-200 there is the need of only one
drop of C-199.
Nothing more economical...

Re: Potencies
Using your method, Soroush:
to potentise 3.5 ml of liquid to 200C will require 700ml of water
therefore to potentise 1 ml would require 700/3.5 = 200 ml and therefore
to make 1000 ml you'd need 200 x 1000 = 200,000 ml = 200 litres of water.
So to make 1 Ltr of the remedy you would need 200 Ltrs of water discarded
to make 3000 remedies (all one Ltr only) you would need to discard 200 x 3000 = 600,000 :Lts of water.
if you produce 1M, 10M, 50M etc you would go into millions of litres.
AND if you happen to have three or four pharma companies in your country... God help your water supply.

I don't know fluxion. But if it's a machine that replicates manual, it still has to go through
Hahn's method. And if it doesn't follow H's method, then it is something other than Homeopathy.

Re: Potencies
You still dont get it. As an example: If you have one botlle of C-198, from
that you make hundred botlles of
C-199, and from that you make 10.000 botlles of C-200

Re: Potencies
Well it can still be *homeopathy* even if using crude substance -- that is the way homeopathy began. And still homeopathy whether using c or x dilution, or LM, or bee-in-a-blender potency... Potency per se is not central to whether something "is homeopathy."
But indeed fluxion is technically a different dilution "scale" and method.
You might be interested to read more on it, since it is the *main* way that high potencies are made these days -- and has been the case for... many decades!

Re: Potencies
Dear Jeff
You are perhaps assuming that 198C and 199C potencies are thrown away - They are not!
So having reached 199C potency, (as part of 0.7 litre of water used already) you have 100 drops of 199C.
To make 1000 mls of 200 (any why would you need this amount of medicating potency?) we go through a process of using each drop of 199C to produce 3.5 ml of 200C. This gives us 3.5*100 = 350 ml
So we go back to 198C and make two more 199C each of which will give us a further 350 ml - This way we have 1050 ml.
This is the beauty of homeopathic production, you need little water! When you think how Hahnemann used still water for his remedy production, you can see easily that he could not managed the volumes that you are talking about, simply because your volume calculations are incorrect.
Some years back - when homeopathy was young in Iran and they had no potencies, through Helios I arranged the supply of a lot of remedies at 198C and 199C potencies. Such a supply would last a country like Iran for many many years.
[And do not forget that with every 2 or 3 drops of medicating potency you can medicate about 100 pillules!)
So each bottle of medicating potency (100 drops) will give you a minimum of 3000 DRY doses.
Put each dose into a litre bottle and dish out in an epidemic, you can treat absolute masses!
If you doubt my calculation, write to Helios or Ainsworths and ask!
Kind regards
Soroush
