Lyghtforce [was: What's going on??
I'm curious, for those of us who miss Lyghtforce, what are the things you especially valued about it? What did you gain from it, and what would it take to re-create that -- for each of us? (I think I already gave my own answer.)

It think it and Pegasus before it were unique in that they were unique - there wasn't much else around.
As a result the lists tended to attract mainly practitioners interested in interacting with each other at that level.
Gradually, as more got on the internet, a greater diversity of people entered the lists and everyone's opinion began to be presented as having equal homeopathic merit, educated or not.
Nowadays, people have so much coming at them via the internet and there is so much available, that they are not tied as tightly to a single list as they were in the past - they go here and there as they choose.
Lists and groups with a specific focus such as Ardavan's new one may be good as it will be something that will once again be presenting valuable information at a practitioner level that practitioners want.
General lists have become too general for useful discussion as they have become all inclusive - not a bad thing but also allows a lot of rubbish.

Re: Lyghtforce [was: What's going on??
Facebook has many closed or open discussion groups for homeopathy.
I myself am in 107 of these groups, and actively busy with about 10. They are guided groups, with very good discussions and not to the point comments/discussions are taken out if needed.
people should try it

Where was Pegasus? I just remembered--the other I'd been aware of before Lyghtforce was HomeoNet, on .igc server, and that would have been about 1995 and before--I think? When and where was Pegasus, for curiosity?

Wow, thanks for that information! I haven't (yet) ventured onto much in the Facebook arena, other than people's general pages. I guess I need to explore... Did you find all of those 107 by searching the word "homeopathy"?

Re: Lyghtforce [was: What's going on??
I can't remember now. It was in the early 1980s.
Maybe it was run by John?
You had to pay for membership - quite a heavy fee from memory - I guess that meant only those serious about their homeopathy joined.
Once other groups started up it either died out or the membership was dropped.
It might have been the precusor to the Lyghtforce group. Didn't Jon only open that up or join it with another public group that also seems to have died about 10 years ago or so? I know a lot of people dropped out of it when they realised that their posts were being seen by all and sundry without their knowledge that this had been done. Did it join with the otherhealth group which seemed to be a general group about general health related issues rather than just homeopathy? Can't remember now as I wasn't very active in the groups by then. Was it linked with homeopathyhome?

not only, but you reach more groups by seeing which ones your friends are in. And there are many homeopaths on fb

Sheri, what was the first list you knew of? (Did you know Pegasus?)
