especially when the printer companies want you to buy their
ink cartridges

yes definitely & I've noticed that even with compatibles there's ink left when you remove them, so I shall certainly give this tip a go & pass it on ~ thanks Finrod!

I have always run my cartridges until they don't print anymore. Doesn't everyone???? Have never taken any notice of the low ink messages. If you then go and get your branded cartridge refilled the ink monitor won't work anyway as a refilled cartridge is not recognised - at least not in the Dell system.
