Can someone help me out..blue veins and brown spots appearing on right wrist arm...

I think my mother has a touch of the flu because she slept all day. As i put
her to bed i noticed that the veins on top of her right hand were sticking out
prominently and were very blue...and there were brown spots here and there a
little higher up . There are brown spots appearing on left arm but not as
many. As she was in bed i put something under her arm so that her arm was
upraised a little. the blue went down a little. But those spots...? She did
have suphur about 10 days ago...but i give her that every few months when she
hasn't pooped for awhile and it always works...I did give her liquid vit d
this evening...Personally, I hate that stuff. I've taken it and it made me
severely constipated. Anyway...the spots are like the thuya brown spots only
they are much bigger. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on
physiologically?

I take it they are not just brown age spots that you have not noticed before?
