Iatrogenic illness

Post by Wendy Howard »

I have a case which I'd really value some input on.

I have an elderly patient who appears to have been misdiagnosed as suffering
from Parkinson's disease 16 years ago. She was put on levodopa which she has
been taking for 16 years. As far as I can discern, every single one of her
present symptoms result from the long-term effects of this drug. She is
locked into a cycle of continuing to take it as the only thing that will
mitigate the secondary effects of the drug are its primary effects. It's
putting her life at risk, but she is so weakened that the withdrawal process
presents every bit as great a risk. It's also likely that after 16 years of
therapy, permanent damage has occured to the dopaminergic neurons which
would make her completely dependent on continued therapy.

In the continued presence of the maintaining cause (bearing in mind Organon
'7 and '252), is there anything homeopathy can do? Does anyone have
experience of treating people in similar circumstances with any success, and
what protocols did you adopt?

Regards
Wendy
