I feel like I am yelling in the wind on this. Codex has been getting pushed for years now.
It is at a point where it is galloping forward. The FDA 3 yrs ago put out a draft guidance on
Vitamins, etc which was lifted directly from Codex guidelines. Bush snuck Codex into
the Cafta Treaty in 2006. Obama is doing his part by, not only signing onto Codex officially,
but from day one appointing GMO, drug company goons to all positions of power regarding
health and food. The food safety bill was an attack on organic/small farms.
The Big Picture is totalitarian control over all food, supplements and health. Mandatory
health insurance from big corporate insurance companies that only support use of drugs and
some surgery.
We are seeing an increasing number of attacks on vitamins: Vit E, Vit D3, Vit C, etc. The
rate of attack is increasing and will continue until the DSHEA regs are moot whether they
stay on the legislative books or not.
I don't know what it will take for people in the holistic healing protocols to wrap their minds
around the seriousness of this situation. Homeopaths need to get their collective acts together
and stop pretending that as long as they are peace loving, ethical practitioners all will be
right with the world. History clearly teaches us differently. Remember Pastor Niemiers? (always
screw up his last name) poem about Nazi Germany? The tactics are always the same.
They pick off one little civil right, one little vitamin, one little protocol at a time until there are none
left and no one to support you.

Yes, and most of us don't know how to take action as *individuals*--so I am glad to have these organizations finally offering channels. Dunno how much good signing petitions is apt to do; some good, sturdy BOYCOTTS would no doubt be better--tho how to boycott the FDA...

There are many valid tactics to use.
Anyone can act individually with phone calls, letters, emails, etc.
People can schedule a visit to their congresspeople and lobby them.
However, there is power in numbers and working collectively is always a stronger
approach. Also, it empowers people to be working in a group. There is positive
reinforcement and a strong sense of comradery and mutual support.
Boycotts are great!
Local educational efforts are important venues that can be created.
Petitions do count, especially when there are 10's of 1000's signatures.
The collective impact on a congressperson is strong when he/she is beseiged with
demands for a particular action. Remember is was collective action that got us out
of Viet Nam--just one little example
