are you saying that the caregiver is taking on the energy of the caregivee? I
heard that once in my massage/healing training, not to work on family members
as you would pick up all their issues into your own body unless you took lots
of steps, grounding excercises, etc, to not let that happen.
Thus said, i am a caretaker and my mother seems to be saint-like. I find her
very easy to take care of. However, my husband who i always thought was in
competition with me for worse illnesses...if i had a headache, he had a worse
headache. If i had a stomach ache, he had a worse stomach ache. I always
thought he was making up that stuff. Then, recently, i got a really bad broken
blood vessel in my right eye. About two weeks later, it took him quite a while
to catch up on this one, he got a bloodshot eye in the same eye. (its not
pinkeye). But, then again, maybe i was getting my stomach aches and headaches
from him(he drives me crazy)and so now we are getting to borderline
ridiculous.

(( The risk is not just the "energy" but actually acquiring an Alter from
the person under care. Of caregiver clients at least 60% (general pop %)
carry an Alter; higher than that in elderly; and approaching 100% if
person has a psychiatric dx). (PROFESSIONAL caregiving is high-risk for
acquiring Alters; compounded if have to spend a lot of time in hospital
with client; and most especially if caregiver is repeatedly with clients
at their death.

((( General good advice for bodyworkers to use protective and cleansing,
not just with family meembers. I would advise professional bodyworkers as
well to somewhat regularly see a hypnotherapist with skills discussed in
my reply to Donna today in order to monitor this. Bodyworking can, with
some clientele, be high-risk for unwittingly acquring Alters.

((( I hope the analysis done a few months ago helped your thinking on your
own case. I hope your eye issue is resolving.
The tendency to create an illness for oneself prompted by another in
close proximity (or even far away) is a SYMPATHETIC symptom. This type
of symptom requires a paradigm that recognizes the quantum field in
biology, so it is no longer on radar of any pracs other than homeopaths
and maybe some TCM pracs. There are several common areas of sympathy
which manifest (cough, eye inflammation, some neurological sx). But it
could manifest as any sx. Here is the eye rubric.
Eyes, Inflammation , sympathetic (general opthalmia) (11 remedies) arg-n
BELL, bry, calen, euph, kali-i merc, puls, RHUS-T, sil, staph
Eyes, Inflammation , sympathetic, conjunctivae: ARG-N, euph, merc, puls,
STAPH

Cough, Sympathetic (31 remedies)

So the eye rubric should be considered for your husband. If nothing
there, consult other sympathetic symptom rubrics in the two big modern
reps (you can get a beautiful browser copy of Complete 2010 as free online
download courtesy of its author and that will probably cover it). Even
though he may never have coughed, etc. sympathetically - the tendency is
in the remedy type to create an ailment due to sympathy (a kind of
resonance between people). So it (may) be a useful help to finding a
relevant important remedy for him (and as you suggest you are not sure who
is starting the ping pong, perhaps also yourself).
Best,
