yes, on at least 2 occasions that I know of, bill has been caught on tape linking vaccines to population control.
and all those good nazi chemists--such a shame to let that brain power go to waste. and they didn't. bring them
to the usa and put them to use in biowarfare and chemical programs to develop eugenics programs and promote
their master race.
people should be horrified for real

Quite apart from the horrify prospect of being vaccinated (or sterilized) without your permission, the technology of nano-particles is terrifying. Just think about some of the other less superficially "benign" applications! The Nazis' cyanide gas was nothing compared to this.

yes 1942 was 60 yrs ago. 'modern science' has allowed so much more to happen.
and, they learned that subtlety was a much better tactic.

Hi Tanya, I know he said it at the TED conference earlier this year ... when else has he publicly stated it? My husband doesn't believe he meant it like that at TED, so I'd love to show him a second quote! :p

I too find it very strange. Could it simply be that Bill Gates is following the logic that says: Vaccination = saving children's lives. Saving lives = falling birth rates (people don't need to have so many children if they can be sure they will survive and be there to help them in their own age.)
This is a long-held belief - and seems logical to me. If your kids are likely to die, you'd want a few extra as an insurance.

But in I believe most of the countries with the huge birth (and death) rates, it's been found over and over that the best way to reduce the birth rate is to *educate* women. And/or to provide birth control. Yes in some circumstances there are incentives to have a lot of children, e.g. agricultural, but I don't think those were the countries being talked about, were they?

Along with vaccination he mentions reproductive health in that conference speech, if I remember rightly. I just assumed he was being a bit coy about contraception and unfortunately lumping everything together. Does one have to be coy about naming contraception campaigns in the US? Of course that can open a can of worms anyway depending on how it is done.

Yes one does have to be coy about contraception campaigns here, because of the Catholic church's and the "religious right's" objection to it. However, he could also have been just talking about STDs and maternal health care, pre- and post-birth. (I didn't hear it, so just guessing.)
