Anaemia and Oxalic Acid

I was looking in my college notes about anaemia this week and I found a reference to Oxalic Acid with persistent and obstinate anaemia but I can find no reference to this in MM I have looked at. Does anyone know of this remedy being used therapeutically for anaemia?

It is because crude oxalic acid, eaten as sorrel, rhubarb etc, can interfere with the absorption of iron.

So if you look at certain sx of Oxalic acid you could confirm sx of anaemia with the following:-

mottled skin
blueness of limbs (usually lower)
weakness of limbs
palpitations
dyspnea
aortic insufficiency
restless sleep, can be sleepless

Maybe more.

Curiously I am thinking of prescribing this for someone who appears to have serious anaemia but hadn't yet decided definitely

Thanks for that. My patient looks fine now but has big problems with very low ferritin and haemoglobin counts causing tachycardia. How would prescribe this Joy? LMs?

Possibly LM's, can't think why not, but hard to say without knowing the case. What form of tachycardia is it and the chicken and egg question is the tachycardia (due to some other reason) causing the anaemia or the other way round but either way knowing the cause of either would benefit. If certain it is the low ferritin then = liver rx? and isn't there a connection to hypothyroidism as well. Sorry, only adding that as an extra

What else of the case fits with Oxalic acid?

Actually was not thinking of giving it to her - this is a long standing case from years back (and I wrote about it on this list) who has returned but was curious about the Oxalic Acid because I had it in my notes. Have told her to get Ferrum Phos T.S.to go with the Rx I have given her for her present hormonal Sx. She now believes the Tachycardia is caused by the anaemia which was not acted upon by the allopaths.
