I am hoping that someone can assist me. I have made a comment from my MacRep software based on one of "Breyfogle's" writings. So now I am being asked to prove the "worthiness" of my information not its' correctness!
So my question is, "Does anyone have any background information on Who Dr. W. Breyfogle is? and What his (briefly) background consisted of? Beyond the fact that he practiced in the late 1800's in the southern US (Louisiana?)."
I have searched the internet to no avail and I am merely looking for some brief but factual information as regards his "importance" in Homeopathic History so that we may learn about Breyfogle. FYI This is NOT a School Assignment so there are no issues with plagiarism. Thank you for any assistance in this matter!

Searching EH (Encyclopedia Homeopathica) for Breyfogle, I get several "hits"
Here's one from J. Yasgur's "Homeopathic Dictionary"
Breyfogle, William Lamartine 1845 - 6/15/1915) Author of "Epitome of
Homeopathic Medicines (1869)
Graduate of Hahnemann Medical College (Philadephia) 1868 (at that time this
was a Homeopathic medical college- dh.)
There are a few Breyfogle's .. W.L. was an M.D. homeopath in Lousville, KY.,
and was President of AIH (American Institute of Homoeopathy) in 1882.
This (excerpt of review on Boericke MM) seems to speak respectfully of him:
Review in the Homeopathic Recorder, July, 1901
From Hering and Breyfogle, of old times, down to Fahnestock, "A, B, C,"
Clarke, and Boericke of the current year, what a host of "pocket" and
"condensed" Materia Medicas have been issued. And unless the authors have
re-proved the remedies (which they haven't), what new can they have to say?
Yet they are one and all useful little books, for the very life of
homeopathy is its Materia Medica; for minus that it has no reason for being,
and we cannot have too much attention paid to this subject. Dr. Boericke's
book is a very handsome production, printed on "bible paper" and fitted for
size in the pocket.

her death, read: "Your enquiry as to whether Hahnemann altered his views
about potencies in the last period of his life and whether he made us only
of high potencies, I can answer in this way; Hahnemann used all degrees of
dilution, low as well as high, as the individual case required. I saw him
give the third trituration, but I also know that he used the 200th or even
the 1,000th potency whenever he considered it necessary".
If you need more, you'll probably have to wait until Julian Winston
(homeopathic historian & author, "Faces of Homeopathy") -returns from OZ.

I had already come across Will Taylor's site plus a couple of other but they do not give any background info on Dr Breyfogle... How do I reach Julian Winston or is he on this List? Actually Sue, it is NOT someone who is an "outsider"... but rather it is someone who feels that when I "offer" remedy information that I should only use the information from the "likes" of Phatak, Vermeulen, etc. and not use the information from lesser known individuals... so all I am attempting to do is LEARN who Breyfogle is, his "standing" & contributions in the community and then share that info with anyone who might also wish to learn... FYI when I originally shared my bit of information pertaining to one particular characteristic of a Remedy, I did "quote" from 6 different sources which included Phatak & Vermeulen, so this is merely a LEARNING experience for me & hopefully for others.
