A very sweet 3yo girl. Thin child with dark hair deep brown eyes. As a baby more pudgy with rounder face like the Gerber baby. Thinned out the last year. Slightly underweight in the low normal percentile.
Mom's pregnancy was fairly normal no morning sickness and she was a planned child and wanted by the parents. However they were heavy partyers and dancers and dad wanted to continue the lifestyle and she didn't have the energy due to great fatigue. She left him after arguing about this for a few weeks and then returned to the relationship after bleeding vaginally.
Midway through pregnancy she started bleeding and was given steroids which stopped it but then started again and baby birthed by C section at 32 weeks.
Appeared to be normal at birth but shortly afterwards noticed head was held to the left side. At 3 months couldn't hold head up it bopped all over the place and she was diagnosed with torticollis as her head now hung to the left most of the time though she could move her head.
By the time she was a year old was dg with muscular dystrophy with major weakness on the left side extremities leg and arm. Hand is held in a fist most of the time but not so tight she won't open it. Thumb is on the outside not tucked inside the fingers all the time. First 3 pediatricians said nothing wrong. 4th one said we need an MRI and EEG.
Normal intelligence. Knows her numbers and colors and can hold a conversation but can be hard to understand as the tongue is also affected. Can really mostly say yeah, hi, but she understands everything you are saying and does her best to respond.
Does not know which form of MD she has.
Epilepsy: Last year she started blinking and staring into space with a blank look on her face for a few (5-15) seconds then her head drops to her chest. Within seconds she can continue with the conversation is alert and can laugh. She had 4 of them in the 2.5 hours she was in my office. Diagnosed with epilepsy this summer. Rx Topermax? but didn't like the side affects and refused to give them to her.
She is happy most of the time, independent not clingy, knows what she wants.
Has to ask for things as she can't walk on her own. She can walk if held up by someone. Hangs head down on chest when walking. Won't hold the head up.
Scoliosis worse in the low back. Causes her pain during physical therapy.
Reaches easily for things. Dropped the coloring book about 30 times the second hour she was there. Only 1-2 x the first hour. Not sure if tired or on purpose. Mom calm the whole time. Looks around the room interested in her surroundings. Has a lazy eye but good vision.
Had white spots on baby teeth which dentist said were caused developmently while still in the womb. That part decayed and has fallen off giving the front two teeth a chipped appearance.
Warmed up to me quickly. mom says very outgoing and frequently talks to strangers saying hi which she does over and over.
I asked if she spoke to the her new sister in the womb and she said yes she tells her hi.
No real fears ok with thunderstorms but Sensitive to noise and loud noises like Maternal Grandma who lives nearby. PGM more quiet and she likes her more (they live in Holland)
Feet point downward. Given plastic braces but mom doesn't use them a lot since when in stroller foot held in flexion on foot rest.
Blue sclera, loves chocolate, oatmeal cookies and PB&J craves sweets. Not overly fond of smoked foods. Seldom eats veggies. Taking juice plus veggies and fruit gummy bears.
Doesn't eat much fiber and is constipated going about every 3 days. Stool is large and painful to expel. She cries out.
Loves music.
Since birth lots of head perspiration though doesn't smell sour not much smell to the perspiration. Forehead normally moist with perspiration even if cool outside.
Head and hands normally hot feet cooler to cold. Head sweats during sleep to wet the pillow even with cool room temp and AC on. Fontanelles closed normally.
Drools a lot but since holds mouth open a lot may be the cause. Can close her mouth and chew though she does not chew food thoroughly.
Tongue pale red with thin white coat at the root. Wet trembling and wagging.
Pulse rapid thready on right side and surprisingly less pronounced and weaker on the right her strong side. Also hard to find on the rt side. She is right handed.
Left pulse more wiry and stronger. Proximal kidney position weaker both sides.
Played quietly coloring most of the time mom and I talked. Gave me good eye contact and laughed and giggled and was quiet. Very bright moist eyes. When she cried it was not loud. Upset she didn't get her way and after mom hung up phone call to dad and she didn't want to end the call.
Listened to my questions and answered them. Mom had to interpret for me some times. Starts words and then drags syllables out. Consistently said Thaaaaaannnnnk pause yooooooouh and drop off the end of you.
07 choked on food lost consciousness and in intensive care 3 days deprived of oxygen. Choked again last summer though not hospitalized it was bad.
Hx of earache and cold given garlic and mullein oil
Pinkeye used natural remedies
Diaper rash was red to light red with no real line of demarcation (more sulph than medorrhinum)
Had all of her vaccinations but delayed them and had them given spread apart not all at once. Not much reaction no known adverse reactions.
She is registered as one of Jerry's kids.
Obsessed with Dora the explorer not interested in many of the other characters mom introduces. Likes tinkerbell.
Mom worked at Disneyworld during her pregnancy. Dad is a nursery owner using natural pesticides earth friendly but they are still pesticides. Not known how much that might have played into it.
Mom is now pregnant with second child not planned and dad is upset about it. 25% chance could also have MD or neurological damage.
Family hx of cancer both sides and diabetes on mom's side.
Fingernails smooth glossy pink beds. No white flecks small moons. Slight ridges on ring finger rt hand.
Mom has the white flecks on her fingernails though denies tuberculosis hx on both sides. Cancer on both sides. (glossy nails are tubercular miasm as is white flecks)

I gave Calc LM01 BID for 1 week but to stop if she gets better or worse and call me over the holiday if need be. Phone followup on Monday and office f/u Dec 15.

I do not see much suppression here. I might wish to detox in the possibility that the drinking and perhaps drugs by dad might have played a role. Mom knew right away she was pregnant and stopped drinking and dancing etc. Most of the symptoms appeared b4 vaccinations. BTW gave her the swine flu vaccine last month.
F/U Fever 102.4 after the calc carb LM01 sent home from school. Mom did not call me and gave Tylenol. Fever dropped.
Explained to mom don’t do that if it happens again. Repeated the Calc c and fever returned and sent home from school again. Mom called me and said she was playing happily after eating lunch. I had her take the temperature again and it was slightly less than normal without Tylenol or treatment. It had lasted a couple of hours.
Absence seizures reduced, constipation relieved. Stool now more frequent and very smelly.
5-10 seizures more frequent now over 50/day. gave 1 dose Calc c 200c wet dose.
Later in June reduced calc carb to 12c to repeat more frequently as seizures were returning. Mom confused the bottle and gave the 200C until it was gone even though supposed to be 12c prn but seizures had increased and instead of calling just dosed daily.

tired 3-4pm if put down 1pm after lunch
less active than sister from birth
Lots of seizures 5 min to 30 minutes then another 30 minutes and starts having one every 5 minutes

Keppra rx not giving it to her cos of side effects Explained she could be getting too exhausted
Going to the bathroom more often eating more appetite improved. Gained 2 pounds. Head sweats while sleeping not as pronounced.
Sonogram showed liver and stomach ok
Bloodwork no hepatitis
Mom depressed blames herself as no MD on dad's side. Mom doesn't know who her dad is abandoned at an early age. Husband owns a plant nursery and uses traditional pesiticides. Blames her and is angry at her for causing 2 kids with MD.

At birth torticolis at 2 months neck weakness by 3 months fists toe pointing and scoliosis
Swallowed meconium in the belly nicu kept her 5 days cos couldn’t keep food down
Nothing else wrong x-ray of tummy gas fed thru tube and nose cos when gave milk fall asleep and not drink more or drink milk and spit it up.
Food just started solid food. Pumpkin green peas carrots eats every 2 hours 5 oz milk and solid food 1x daily
Stool daily
Thirst always like never fed trying to shove it into her mouth if she goes over the feeding time like doesn’t wake from nap then she drinks 7 ounces
Used to make weird sounds when drinking lessened now Dr C said the cartilage in her throat is getting harder to help with this condition
Moves like a worm non stop has to move arms and legs carry with two hands cos moving constantly.
Restless at night kicks and lots of bunnys in the crib which move but she is hidden in there can’t see her but bunnies moving.
Just started rolling over this week
Dg 2 weeks ago with Muscular Dystrophy
CPK 320 at 3 months two weeks sister has MD case above.
Had all of her shots
Strabismus developing site wait on opthlamology her eye is getting stronger better
Teething already putting fingers in mouth and drooling a lot
Vocal earlier than sister and
Likes to be on her back with face to the left
Rt sided by hand
No weakness either side yet
Went to rock springs and really cold water put her legs in and didn’t jump or want to pull the legs out ok with it
Loud noises don’t bother her but strange noises do like dad has a weird cough and woke her up and she cried a lot
Scoliosis to the left
Weak neck
Puts right leg up by ear more often than the left leg
Sleep kicks a lot restless then falls back to sleep
Last milk is 10pm sleeps til 5:30 – 6:30 and I feed her again
Started 3 months colic stopped and
B4 that up every 2 hours months
Perspiration head is warm but doesn’t perspire unless outside and it is hot.
Always restless and the grump of the family
Cries a lot makes sounds and then starts crying
Likes baths but
If I put her on her tummy she gets really upset and cries and falls asleep
Doesn’t want to exercise on her tummy
Likes to throw her arm and hit her own face when ticked off
Looking for any modality any feels might work. Nutrition included. Mom desperate and does not desire to put the girls on drugs but something has to be done for the seizures. Many other areas improved but this has to be addressed.

Blue sclera, loves chocolate, oatmeal cookies and PB&J craves sweets. Not overly fond of smoked foods. Seldom eats veggies. Taking juice plus veggies and fruit gummy bears.
Doesn't eat much fiber and is constipated going about every 3 days. Stool is large and painful to expel. She cries out.
Loves music.
Since birth lots of head perspiration though doesn't smell sour not much smell to the perspiration. Forehead normally moist with perspiration even if cool outside.
Head and hands normally hot feet cooler to cold. Head sweats during sleep to wet the pillow even with cool room temp and AC on. Fontanelles closed normally.
Drools a lot but since holds mouth open a lot may be the cause. Can close her mouth and chew though she does not chew food thoroughly.
Tongue pale red with thin white coat at the root. Wet trembling and wagging.
Pulse rapid thready on right side and surprisingly less pronounced and weaker on the right her strong side. Also hard to find on the rt side. She is right handed.
Left pulse more wiry and stronger. Proximal kidney position weaker both sides.
Played quietly coloring most of the time mom and I talked. Gave me good eye contact and laughed and giggled and was quiet. Very bright moist eyes. When she cried it was not loud. Upset she didn't get her way and after mom hung up phone call to dad and she didn't want to end the call.
Listened to my questions and answered them. Mom had to interpret for me some times. Starts words and then drags syllables out. Consistently said Thaaaaaannnnnk pause yooooooouh and drop off the end of you.
07 choked on food lost consciousness and in intensive care 3 days deprived of oxygen. Choked again last summer though not hospitalized it was bad.
Hx of earache and cold given garlic and mullein oil
Pinkeye used natural remedies
Diaper rash was red to light red with no real line of demarcation (more sulph than medorrhinum)
Had all of her vaccinations but delayed them and had them given spread apart not all at once. Not much reaction no known adverse reactions.
She is registered as one of Jerry's kids.
Obsessed with Dora the explorer not interested in many of the other characters mom introduces. Likes tinkerbell.
Mom worked at Disneyworld during her pregnancy. Dad is a nursery owner using natural pesticides earth friendly but they are still pesticides. Not known how much that might have played into it.
Mom is now pregnant with second child not planned and dad is upset about it. 25% chance could also have MD or neurological damage.
Family hx of cancer both sides and diabetes on mom's side.
Fingernails smooth glossy pink beds. No white flecks small moons. Slight ridges on ring finger rt hand.
Mom has the white flecks on her fingernails though denies tuberculosis hx on both sides. Cancer on both sides. (glossy nails are tubercular miasm as is white flecks)

I gave Calc LM01 BID for 1 week but to stop if she gets better or worse and call me over the holiday if need be. Phone followup on Monday and office f/u Dec 15.

I do not see much suppression here. I might wish to detox in the possibility that the drinking and perhaps drugs by dad might have played a role. Mom knew right away she was pregnant and stopped drinking and dancing etc. Most of the symptoms appeared b4 vaccinations. BTW gave her the swine flu vaccine last month.
F/U Fever 102.4 after the calc carb LM01 sent home from school. Mom did not call me and gave Tylenol. Fever dropped.
Explained to mom don’t do that if it happens again. Repeated the Calc c and fever returned and sent home from school again. Mom called me and said she was playing happily after eating lunch. I had her take the temperature again and it was slightly less than normal without Tylenol or treatment. It had lasted a couple of hours.
Absence seizures reduced, constipation relieved. Stool now more frequent and very smelly.
5-10 seizures more frequent now over 50/day. gave 1 dose Calc c 200c wet dose.
Later in June reduced calc carb to 12c to repeat more frequently as seizures were returning. Mom confused the bottle and gave the 200C until it was gone even though supposed to be 12c prn but seizures had increased and instead of calling just dosed daily.
K 7-13-10 after daily calc c 200c
24 pounds 4 yrs 5 months DOB
tired 3-4pm if put down 1pm after lunch
less active than sister from birth
Lots of seizures 5 min to 30 minutes then another 30 minutes and starts having one every 5 minutes
Eeg neuro appt in September didn’t say how many seizures just a lot
Keppra rx not giving it to her cos of side effects Explained she could be getting too exhausted
Going to the bathroom more often eating more appetite improved. Gained 2 pounds. Head sweats while sleeping not as pronounced.
Sonogram showed liver and stomach ok
Bloodwork no hepatitis
Mom depressed blames herself as no MD on dad's side. Mom doesn't know who her dad is abandoned at an early age. Husband owns a plant nursery and uses traditional pesiticides. Blames her and is angry at her for causing 2 kids with MD.

At birth torticolis at 2 months neck weakness by 3 months fists toe pointing and scoliosis
Swallowed meconium in the belly nicu kept her 5 days cos couldn’t keep food down
Nothing else wrong x-ray of tummy gas fed thru tube and nose cos when gave milk fall asleep and not drink more or drink milk and spit it up.
Food just started solid food. Pumpkin green peas carrots eats every 2 hours 5 oz milk and solid food 1x daily
Stool daily
Thirst always like never fed trying to shove it into her mouth if she goes over the feeding time like doesn’t wake from nap then she drinks 7 ounces
Used to make weird sounds when drinking lessened now Dr C said the cartilage in her throat is getting harder to help with this condition
Moves like a worm non stop has to move arms and legs carry with two hands cos moving constantly.
Restless at night kicks and lots of bunnys in the crib which move but she is hidden in there can’t see her but bunnies moving.

CPK 320 at 3 months two weeks sister has MD case above.
Had all of her shots
Strabismus developing site wait on opthlamology her eye is getting stronger better
Teething already putting fingers in mouth and drooling a lot
Vocal earlier than sister and
Likes to be on her back with face to the left
Rt sided by hand
No weakness either side yet
Went to rock springs and really cold water put her legs in and didn’t jump or want to pull the legs out ok with it
Loud noises don’t bother her but strange noises do like dad has a weird cough and woke her up and she cried a lot
Scoliosis to the left
Weak neck
Puts right leg up by ear more often than the left leg
Sleep kicks a lot restless then falls back to sleep
Last milk is 10pm sleeps til 5:30 – 6:30 and I feed her again
Started 3 months colic stopped and
B4 that up every 2 hours months
Perspiration head is warm but doesn’t perspire unless outside and it is hot.
Always restless and the grump of the family
Cries a lot makes sounds and then starts crying
Likes baths but
If I put her on her tummy she gets really upset and cries and falls asleep
Doesn’t want to exercise on her tummy
Likes to throw her arm and hit her own face when ticked off
Looking for any modality any feels might work. Nutrition included. Mom desperate and does not desire to put the girls on drugs but something has to be done for the seizures. Many other areas improved but this has to be addressed.

Muscular Distrophy and Myasthenia Gravis are two stages of the same condition. We are constantly being told by the medical profession that there are many genetic disorders and as such we are not in control of our own destiny and thus must rely upon them for treatment but, of course, never a cure. Most of the time this is total horse pucky like in the case of cancer, however, there are some genetic disorders and MD is one of them.
The condition is brought on by an inability of the body to properly utilize certain vitamins such as the B and E families. Back in the 1940s

There is a very strong link between steroids and MD so this could be a NBWS steroids that the mother took during pregnancy and the baby was born apparently with the sx right from the start.
I would use the petit mal sx - the staring, fixed vision during epilepsy (there are rubrics for this) and there is an obvious left sidedness that could be useful in differentiating rx. Details of the convulsions could also be differential.
I would possibly include the discolouration of the teeth and the chipping (syphilitic?) which could come under the 'crumbling' rubric?
Confused as to which child you are asking for help with, both? Did the mother take any steroids during the second pregnancy?

Carcinosin was my thought also. It also suits the friendliness, love of music, familial histories (cancer and diabetes), would at least seem to be the target miasm?

Is a nosode the best way (i.e. prescribing for familial histories), does Carcnosin have an affinity to muscular disorder such as this as well as apparently some brain involvement causing the epilepsy? (the two - MD and convulsions go together commonly). It should always come down to what needs to be cured (based on the totality) and curing 'friendliness, a love of music, a love of chocolate and constipation which is very common in MD' hardly seems the way to go. Also prescribing on familial disturbances can excite the vital force unnecessarily.

Yes, but Carcinosin repertorises very badly - if at all. So you need to think of it and look for it - and with something genetic like this, it is definitely to be borne in mind.

Yep, and it has very definite prescribing indications, and literature which can be used to rule-in / rule-out -- Joy, I am not suggesting "winging it", just mentioning as a thought.
