These are remedies mentioned in Ref Works.
Muscular dystrophy (14): 3Karw-h., 3Plb-m., 2calc., 2mang., 2oryz-s., 2pineal., 2plb., 2plb-p., aloe, apis, bol-luc., hydro-c., kali-p., lac-del.
The reality of treating such a case would be to me quite challenging, jean

Then you shouldn't make suggestions of rx for cases when you say there are clear rx indications but cannot name those indications - how muddled is that?

Joy, I was thinking: I'm finding it quite fascinating that you're all over me for making a suggestion, but said not a thing when, a few days back, some fellow sought a remedy for "Mother soon to give birth. Fluids are eliminated, urine, in excess of intake, creating great concern. Otherwise pregnancy has progressed normally.", and branded me "pathetic" because I suggested he needed to have a case. (Apparently his "eminent homeopath" didn't, tho. Would've loved to learn something from that experience, other than that people are weird...)
Where the heck were you that day, hm?
Interesting "selectivity" from you these days.

I don't read all the posts, certainly not that one, that is why - and don't always feel inclined to reply to the ones I do - Ms Grumpy

It would be so much more interesting if people would give reasons as to their thinking/practice

Can you say more about some of these rx - Causticum seems easy to understand and to a certain extent Hydrophis and Manganese poisoning causes paraplegia but so many other rx have these affinities.

If I remember rightly, your reply was triggered by my suggestion to look at Carc. as a possible remedy, and I gave some indications which are quite telling - chronic constipation, blue sclera, love of chocolate and strong indications for several other remedies all at the same time.
Someone else added love of music and genetic antecedents in the familial history. And there are more pointers too.
These alone are worth consideration - yes, these 'pointers' are not exclusive to Carc., but when they come together they make a strong case for it. And as I said before, with a genetic disease such as this, I would most certainly be looking at nosodes!
And yes - Carc. does repertorise badly - it is not in all repertories (although I personally work with Murphy) but there is plenty of information available to guide with a prescription - as one example from memory, there is an excellent essay and collection of case histories by Foubister.
