parkinson's question

Post by Tanya Marquette »

Has anyone worked with Parkinson's disesase. Had a man, late 60's, call me about his
condition. It is complicated with a stomach cancer and COPD. He has been on Carbidopa Levodapa 25/100
for 8 yrs. His tremors have gotten worse over the years with this medication which has a side effect of causing
Parkinsons.
Am trying to assess whether I can offer any real help to this man. He is very anxious but low key.

I am of the opinion that Homeopathy can treat/cure almost anything and as always each case will be different so you can go a long way with this, even further if the vital force is giving quality sx. Hopefully there will be a chance to reduce drugs over a long period of time (otherwise why else treat) but the first hurdle is assessing whether what sx you have are natural or drug induced/altered..

We have many homeopathic rx that address this disease.

I tend to be optimistic, too. However, I feel a bit out of my league on a case like this one. It is so complicated and
I am not finding the kind of information on the drug he is taking that I would like; ie, what effects it has on the liver which
he says has too high an enzyme count (according to his md). His vit d3 levels are very low which is not surprising and
the md is telling him he needs vit b12 shots for the rest of his life--a typical response to low b12 blood tests.
I do know he was exposed to radiation for years since he was a respirtory therapist and worked in radiology. He
was also in the armed service so who knows what chemical/vaccine abuse he sufferred in that as well as the stresses
he faced.
I would feel better if I had more knowledge of the drug effects and the consequences of withdrawal from the drugs.

I have worked with a few Parkinson cases. The results range from absolutely no diffrerence (in one case, even though she took mediine for quite some time) to excellent in three cases (as far as I remember) to improved but not completely cured in a couple more(the treatment is still continuingt)..
The one that medicine did not help had all the symptoms of Merc and Merc initially helped but imporvenment stopped and no other remedy helped.
In advanced cases where pathology is too far advanced you may need to first give something that covers the disease with its peculiar features before giving the constitutional remedy.
You can use the rubric Paralysis agitans if you are using Kent.
Best regards

I have treated a few cases but cannot claim to be very effective in it/

The disease is always advanced when it comes to homeopathy and the patients on zillion drugs. It is very difficult to withdraw them and very difficult to make an impression on drug saturated systems..

At least that has been my experience. I have allayed some of the symptoms, made it less incapacitating in some cases, but never totally made them free of their drugs...

I have tried Aur.sulph, Merc, Plumb, Hyos. hydrobrom etc. at various times, but personally I would suggest to go back to the pre Parkinson picture and see if you have a constitutional picture from there and prescribe on it.

Good luck, it needs enormous patience on both sides, some very good case taking, astute prescribing, particular attention to dosage and repetition - even without getting extra complications like cancer etc.

Aggravations, if they occur sometimes are heartbreaking and nerve-testing...and you never know if that is due to your remedy or the disease or the allopathic drugs

I have spent a few sleepless nights worrying about an old woman ( 70 +) referred to me by another homeopath, made a few visits to their house, and her devoted husband who was both a nuisance to me ( calling me at all odd hours and needing support in his mission to cure his wife) and inspiration,... we lost her in a few months but he remained in touch for few months after that...one of the cases that can move one to tears

There is an allopathic drug that they use to create parkinson's in lab animals so that they can try out different treatments. Rather guesome. I first heard of it from Robin Murphy. I dont remember the drug name.

There was also a "recreational" drug that they found caused Parkinson's sxs in people. I am not sure if this is the same drug.

They are probably a good "specifics" for many cases of Parkinson's.

There is one drug I have heard of Methyl Phenyl Tetrahydro Pyridine - MPTP for experimental Parkinsons but there may be many others. That is one possibility but if that were the case Streptozotocin for diabetes and even cyclosporin A for AIDS would have become prevalent in homeopathic treatment of these diseases...
Meth might be the "recreational" drug causing parkinson.

It might be pertinent to note that Coca is one of the drugs mentioned for Parkinsons in homeopathic literature
