Are aggrevations signs that a remedy is working?
If someone takes a remedy and results in aggrevations eg. fever, rashes, runny nose etc.., is it a good sign that tells you that the remedy is working vs one that shows nothing..no improvements, no regressions.
Aggrevations or provings resulted from long term use of a high potency remedy, beside making a person uncomfortable, will they actually cause any harm to the patients?

But you don't need to have aggravations nor do you want to - why have
a rocky road toward cure when it cna be much smoother and gentler and
safer using water potencies.
Giving remedies in water as Hahnemann taught in 5th and 6th edition
of the organon helps to keep aggravations down at the beginning. The
aggravation comes at the end when using remedies in water the way he
instructs for chronic conditions. This is the clue that the remedy
has completed its action and case needs to be re-looked at.
When people use remedies dry, aggravation may come at the beginning
because less control over dose and potency.
Aggravations and provings are 2 different things.
Provings are new symptoms caused by the remedy that you did not have
at the beginning of treatment for current condition.
Aggravations are a worsening of the symptoms of the current condition.
Either one can last a long time when they come after a dry dose of a
remedy and yes, could be harmful.

Re: Are aggrevations signs that a remedy is working?
Hi Priscilla-
I have caused both in my practice - I have aggravated patients following even single doses or multiple doses, I have also proved them... when aggravation occurs patients get alarmed sometimes and sometimes do suffer from pain etc. But in general if all of this are part of the curative action of the remedy, it does not bother them that much esp. in acute conditions.
A lot of times you would see that if it is the result of curative action even allopathic suppression would not work at that time...
I have seen pain occurring due to curative action not being controlled by pain killers...
But I have never seen any lasting harm done by these aggravations
even when they occur- Even with the dreaded dry doses they do not occur all that frequently ...

Re: Are aggrevations signs that a remedy is working?
I would like to suggest this process could be more useful as an *additive* one, rather than a subtractive / negative, "theories dueling to the death" approach.
E.g., you (Sheri) write: "I have seen children whose autism has gotten far worse after a dry dose." This, and some of your other comments, is added information (about *experiences*, as opposed to theory), and significant if true. (All sorts of qualifier questions leap to mind, such as why you view this as a permanent worsening rather than a simple and temporary, tho yes always regrettable, aggravation; and other questions that would be appropriate to an actual *discussion*.)
So that is an "additive" bit. And I will suggest again (much as you hate it, I know, Sheri) that remarks such as "I think many homeopaths who do routinely prescribed or frequently
is an example of a negative, subtractive approach which I believe to be damaging and cheapening to discussion as well as to the community. Tho yes, it's one theory.
I do find it curious that different prescribers--and different *prescriber populations*--report such differences in observed effects; with some reporting no adverse effects at all from heavy repeat dosing, while others report seeing terrible consequences. Okay, one possibility is that huge swaths of the homeopathic practitioner population are, as you suggest, "in denial", simply not seeing the elephants in their practices.
Another possibility is that we tend to see what we are *expecting*--some expect to see horrible aggravations, so they do, and others are not, so they don't. Another possibility is that different patient populations respond differently. And there are other possibilities too.
I would find it interesting to hear the details about some of the children you mention here. Does this point out that autistic children are apt to be my hyperreactive than most others? That seems extremely likely, doesn't it!
Anyway, if this list were a well-functioning representative of the broader homeopathic community, there could be many such explorations, that could stand a chance of being very instructive to many of us--more as this list *used* to be, and Lyghtforce before it.

This list is well functioning and should adhere to what its mission
statement is - and be an exploration and understanding of Hahnemannian
homeopathy. Your 'diffusion' is actually such a weakening of that
essence that you have become so distanced from it that it no longer
hardly represents homeopathy let alone Hahnemannian homeopathy. You
revel in confusion, diffusion.
Broader - what is that?

Re: Are aggrevations signs that a remedy is working?
Nope.
So long as you have no interest in either hearing or communicating with me--which this resonse makes even clearer than ever--why the heck should I bother.
Bye.
