post natal depression
Re: post natal depression
Maybe these will give an idea, however, there are usually a wealth of symptoms accompanying the depression that will narrow the field depending on which are uppermost:
MIND - SADNESS - puerperal
MIND - SADNESS - delivery - after

Re: post natal depression
Thanks Robyn,
I have just had the patient in and the problem appears to be that if she is not on a Progesterone substitute or on a progesterone only pill she has this terrible anxiety and depression. She has come off the pill in the last 2 months. The first month was fine and now it has started up again on the 7th day of her cycle. I have actually given her Aur Mur Nat because it came up quite high in my rep and she has been told that she has tiny cysts on her ovaries. The other thing is that she has started to take a large dose of Agnus Castus tablets 4 a day. When I looked Agnus Castus up it does seem to have a lot of depression so I also wondered if this was a causation and told her to come off this straight away.
This is why I just asked if there was a Rx Progesterone and if it had been proved.

Re: post natal depression
Good thinking Jean. I do have some in a 30C I think. We will see how the Aurum Mur Nat goes first and stopping the Agnus Castus!!
