At one year old baby can have pretty much everything an adult can. However, having said that one has to be careful with foods they can choke on. Carrots can be a big choking hazard. The rule of thumb is cut it into small enough pieces they can't get it stuck if they swallow it or give it large enough to work on for a long time. Hot dogs are a lousy food but people do feed them and they are a huge choking hazard. Toast fingers are good. Stay away from seafood at this age, to apt to develop an allergy issue as I understand it. I always gave mine peanut butter at that age, small bits on toast. Great source of protein. Yougurt, cottage cheese, whole grain oatmeal with fruit such as raisons or cranberries soaked overnight in it (easier to digest). We would give ours potatoes, peas, pieces of meat cut small enough to be finger food, pancakes work well. You get the idea.
Good luck,
Leora

Re: Baby foods
Thanks for that. Interesting was about the peanut butter. I am sure I gave it to mine but the current advise I believe is no peanuts under the age of 4 or 5 - no wonder kids are getting allergies!!
